til now. A smart kid from a banking family in Lake Success, New York, Damien had a chance at a bright future. Maybe one day taking over his pop's role as bank manager. A brother, Sonny, two years old, a sister, Connie, two years younger. An apple pie, white picket fence life that was ruined with a car crash when Connie was just sixteen. With their sister left comatose, which no real chance of recovery, the Beck brothers scrabbled for someway to get the money for her care. In the end they started to rob banks, using their inside knowledge to get away with their crimes until they crossed state lines. With the FBI hot on their tail they prepared to do one last job but unknown to Damien his brother had been infected by a demon the night before. In the bank the thing caused a girl to scream and a security guard to shoot. With two bullet wounds in his neck Sonny got up and walked out, leaving Damien to try and save the dying girl. The arrival of a reaper allowed Damien to argue for her to come back but it also saddled him with a new task. Reap souls. For more than forty years Damien has done just that. His existence linked with his brother, he spent the first half of that time tracking the thing in Sonny while it slaughtered and then the two of them ended up in an alliance. The brothers riding together again until Sonny ended up working for a new boss - Crowley, the king of hell. A few months ago Sonny turned up in Mystic Falls, hiding out with the former king from the newly released Lucifer. Now Damien is in town, reaping souls and trying to once again protect his brother.
friends. Damien always was closest to his siblings, Sonny and Connie. There were friends at school, but none last after the crash that cost them Connie. Plenty wanted to claim some connection once the FBI and reporters came calling. Now Damien's wary, Sonny being on the run with Crowley has him looking at everybody who comes close twice.
enemies. A long and varied list. Damien and Sonny stole from plenty of banks over the years. As a reaper Damien earned suspicion from his fellow soul shepherds over his continued connection to his demon brother. With Sonny now being one of Crowley's closest confidents there's an added target on Damien's back.
family. Sonny. It's as simple as that. His big brother is the only family Damien has left. Their sister Connie ended up in a permanent vegetative state at 16, eventually around a decade later. Both parents followed fairly soon after.
lovers. There have been a few women here and there while Sonny and Damien robbed their way across the country, but the last one who got under his skin was the bank cashier who ratted them out to the FBI and led to the robbery that got both brothers shot. Now Damien's not even sure anybody is capable of getting close to him in that way.
