til now. Born moments after his twin brother Frank Theo had it tough from the start. A difficult birth involving forceps robbed him of his hearing. It didn't keep him down, intensive speech therapy, hearing aids and a brother who'd punch anyone bloody for trying to mess with him kept him going. As a teen something else started to reveal itself to him - apparently being a banshee ran in their family, who knew what branch or how many generations it had skipped. The real point was it hadn't missed him, pushing through the ringing silence in his head. It was a struggle to get used to it, to get a hold on it and maybe heading for the US after 18 years of his life spent in Okinawa, Japan on the military base his dad was stationed on was a bad decision but Theo did it anyway. He headed for Whitmore, got his undergrad, postgrad and PhD in biology/neurobiology before he decided that he'd rather teach than be trapped in a lab all day. A couple of years later his damn fool brother got himself torn up and mustered out of the army. Now both are teaching at Whitmore, more than a little unprepared for what's happening in the town. Theo certainly didn't see his relationship with Freyja coming or the danger in bugging out of a situation when one of his banshee fugue states put him face to face with a siren. That choice to run came back to get him when a hunter, mislead about the situation, lured him to the woods and killed him. Now Theo's on the other side, facing an eternity of watching the love of his life give birth and his child growing up without him.
friends. As a kid his brother Frank wasn't just his brother - he was his best friend, his protector, his ears half the time. Leaving Frank behind Theo was forced to surround himself with people of his own picking. He broke down the barriers caused by hearing by making people laugh. He's got his circle of people at Whitmore, in town now, one that was made bigger by his brother's arrival a couple of years before.
enemies. You mean other than Professor Hayes? Nope, not that Theo is aware of at least. Academia's a cut throat world though and the fight for tenure fierce. After a run in with a siren Theo's name ended up on the hit list. With the hit snatched up Theo found himself at the mercy of a hunter who later came for Freyja too. Now Theo is on permanent look out for the man, determined to protect his family any way he can.
family. Theo was born to Andreas and Ava Damasca, a green beret soldier and a teacher respectively. He was born just fifteen minutes after his brother Frank, identical in looks like not entirely. Theo was born deaf, which meant the entire family had to adjust for him. His parents are still on the other side of the world, based in Okinawa, Japan but Frank's at Whitmore too. Professor Damasca 1 and Professor Damasca 2, confusing students every year. In September 2021 Theo will become the father to the first of the next generation of Damascas.
lovers. Maybe he was a bit of a late bloomer, never the same sort of closet party boy his older brother was but Theo always found women to enjoy the company of. In the past it always stayed casual but things changed the minute he met Freyja. Within weeks of their first date they were in a relationship. That love has extended beyond the grave.
