Danny moved to Beacon Hills from Hawaii when he was three years old and it wasn't long after arriving that he and Jackson met. The two of them became fast friends and to this day they are still best friends and still brothers. They looked out for each other while they were growing up and Jackson was the first person that Danny came out to. While he struggled to tell his parents and while the other kids at school started looking at him differently when they found out Jackson always stood by him and made it clear that anyone who gave Danny grief would have him to deal with.
They started practicing lacrosse together and a rivalry started to build between the two of them while they were training but it only made them both work that much harder to be better. While Jackson started becoming more interested in material possessions, Danny started to take more of an interest in technology and learning as much as he could but the two always balanced each other out.
Danny was devastated when Jackson and his family moved to London but he understood why he had to leave after everything that happened while he was a kanima. Danny told Jackson that he had known about the supernatural all along when he decided to move to Mystic Falls to help Scott and the others and he did his best to guide Jackson through the changes he faced after finding out that he was a werewolf-kanima hybrid. They still keep in touch and talk all the time and Danny has even visited Jackson in London a few times during the four years that have passed since he moved there but I would love for Jackson to now move to Mystic Falls and start attending Whitmore so that Danny can have his best friend back
