Sadie was raised by a single mother in Mystic Falls after her Navy SEAL father was killed in action just weeks before her birth - but not before he had named the baby Sadie after the Beatles' Sexy Sadie. They didn't have much but Sadie's mom always made sure she had whatever she needed, with help from her dad's SEAL team who were still stationed out of Virginia Beach. Books and the best friend she claimed when she was just five years old were the most important things in her life, something that didn't change as Sadie grew up and headed to Whitmore. Graduating with a degree in English Lit and Creative Writing, Sadie was well on her way to already being a published author. Since then the staples in her life have been the YA series she's been writing since college, that's been growing in popularity since, the far less innocent books she writes under a pseudonym and her absolute refusal to settle down. Sadie's seen what love does to someone and has displayed a refusal to risk a life of grief and heart ache the same way her mom's suffered. In her book it's better to have had fun and lost to have broken your heart and never fixed it again. Innocent human that she is, Sadie is completely unaware of any sort of supernatural shenanigans that go on in town, although she has used a few of the local legends in her books just for a little spice.
friends. Best friend? Audrey. Hands down forever. Growing up in Mystic Falls, though, Sadie likes to think she's friendly with just about all the locals. She's had time to wear them down with her particular brand of charm. Catch her eye and interest her and Sadie will likely pursue you too.
enemies. Enemies? Really? Does she look like Darth Vader to you? At the worst the girl she gave a black eye in the 9th grade for picking on her best friend might still hold a tiny grudge about the awful junior pictures she ended up with but honestly, nope. Sadie isn't even aware of the supernatural world outside of fiction and the big screen (always with buttered popcorn, thank you very much!).
family. Sadie grew up in a single parent house, since her dad, Navy SEAL Aldo Valencia, was killed before she was even born. Once Audrey literally picked her out as her friend her family grew to include Audrey's too but this is a pretty small pool.
lovers. Since she's never stumbled upon the one, or even the nearly one, Sadie's had a few of these and she's proud to admit it. This girl's not a prude. She enjoys the company of guys and until it happens, she'll carry on enjoying them. Maybe there's a little bit of a psychological component to this after what happens to her parents but Sadie's not one to overly self-analyse.
