Adam was starting to feel off about himself again. He just couldn't wrap his head around what was exactly wrong with him. He was functioning pretty well, he had no problem with any of his daily tasks, he never really felt out of the ordinary, but it was the little things that made him feel like he was abnormal. He can't shake hands or even touch people without shocking them and no to mention that one day where he had stopped a tree from falling down on him with the palm of his hand.
He'd love to deny that it had happened, that it was some unknown force stopping it or that God itself had stepped in and aided him, but it was just out of the picture, it wasn't like he was no believer, he just... knew it was absolutely impossible. He believed in a lot of things, he believed in a lot of fictional creatures and also believed in Angels & Demons, but the type you'd read about in novels and stuff, those beings with halos and fluffy wings. Then the demons with the horns and the dark skin, just the usual way they'd describe them. He loved these things and really wished they were true.
Oh if only he knew. He should really be careful what he wishes for.
Adam was lost in his thoughts, thinking back about his day at school and how he had shocked a girl today, just by shaking hands with her. Was he some type of freak with a lot of electricity in his body or what? It was so frustrating! Adam let out a small sigh before he began making his way forward and the only thing that disturbed his train of thoughts was when he had bumped into someone which sent him stepping back a few steps. When he looked up, he didn't look angry or disturbed, he looked apologetic and a little shocked about the abrupt collision. He saw it was a lady, so he quickly worked on getting an apology out so she wouldn't think ill of him, he really had no intentions of harming her. "I'm so sorry about that, are you-- are you okay?"

While it was true that Hannah was still getting to know Mystic Falls since she hadn’t been there for long the truth was that something about the town just seemed off. She couldn’t quite put her finger on why that was but there seemed to be an unusually high supernatural population in the town and she knew that there had to be a reason for that. She had heard chatter before over angel radio about a town called Beacon Hills that seemed similar but she had never paid too much attention to it, always too busy doing other things to really worry about it too much. Now she and the kids she looked after were looking at settling down in the town, however, and she knew that they were all going to have to be more careful than ever. They had left the previous town they had been living in because Darren, the hunter responsible for killing Zoe’s husband, had caught up with them. He had managed to kill one of the kids before she had managed to find them but she had stopped him from hurting the others and even though she knew that he was dead there was a chance that he might have told someone about Lily and the other kids so Hannah knew that they all had to be on the alert so they could be prepared if anything like that happened again. Worrying about people wasn’t something that Hannah was used to but over the last few months since she had taken her new vessel it seemed to have become second nature. Normally when she took control of a vessel the human’s mind was locked away, only coming to her attention when something notable happened like when she had seen Caroline’s husband but this time was different. Zoe was dead but Hannah had been left with her feelings and memories and it was taking time for her to come to terms with that but she was doing her best. Now she could finally understand Castiel’s attachment to the Winchesters and she knew that there wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do to protect the kids that were now under her care. That day had been a relatively busy one for Hannah, she had enrolled all of the kids in school and had arranged for them to start on Monday and after that she had headed into town both to look for a job and pick up a few things. Zoe had some savings which Hannah was able to access but unfortunately without any money coming in she knew that she wouldn’t be able to provide for the kids for long and not being able to do that just wasn’t an option as far as she was concerned. She knew that she didn’t exactly have many skills or experience to offer to an employer considering she couldn’t exactly tell them that she was the leader of Heaven but she was trying because as far as she was concerned failure just wasn’t an option. Making her way down the street, Hannah snapped out of her thoughts as someone bumped into her and she offered the boy a smile as he apologised. “I’m fine, no harm done,” she assured him. “Are you ok?” she asked, unable to ignore the fact that he looked more shaken than she was. Adam was grateful that it was someone with a kind soul rather than someone mean telling him off for bumping into them. It had happened to him before and it always made his mood turn sour. Adam tried to force a smile, but deep inside, he was battling something so violent, it was something he had never experienced before. It was like there was a whole hurricane rushing through his body and he wasn't sure how to handle it all. "H..Honestly? I-- I don't know." He tried to force out a chuckle, but it came out strained and a little shaky. Was it all true? That he was some sort of freak and Bethany had every damn right to ignore him and run away? Was he a monster? The electricity travelling between his fingers showed that he really was some sort of freak of nature.
"What's.. What's happening to me?" Adam breathed out, his voice trembling and the second he took a step back, he bumped into someone and all the electricity coursing through his veins transferred into him, shocking the man, causing him to fall down. "Something--- Something shocked me! What--" The man sounded as confused as he looked, he seemed in pain too and it tore Adam's heart apart.
A monster. Monster. Monster.
Adam was starting to lose all grasp of control as tears gathered in his eyes, his body trembling harshly. Monster.

Hannah had witnessed both the best and worst of humanity over the years but one thing she had never understood was how they could turn on each other so quickly over the smallest of things. Deep down she knew that angels weren’t much better, after all there had been fighting within their ranks on more than a few occasions before she had taken over the leadership of Heaven, but so many humans seemed to have such short tempers and she really couldn’t see any reason for it. Anyone else might have snapped at the boy that had bumped into her but Hannah wasn’t like that and if she was completely honest she hadn’t been paying total attention to what was going on around her either so she knew better than to make him feel bad about what had happened. She really wasn’t hurt and nothing bad had happened so as far as she was concerned it wasn’t a big deal but the boy was clearly shaky and she knew that if there was something that she could do to ease his mind then she would do it. A year ago she wouldn’t have bothered but Zoe’s influence was so great that she actually found herself caring a little about this boy she didn’t even know and she couldn’t help but want to make sure that he was going to be alright. “What’s wrong?” she asked, unable to ignore the way that the boy seemed to be trying to put on a brave face but his unease was still evident. Hannah had never seen anything like the electricity that seemed to be running between his fingers and as he took a step back and bumped into someone else, Hannah’s eyes widened in surprise as the man fell to the ground like he had just been shocked. Thankfully some others nearby gathered around to make sure that the man was ok which left Hannah to do the same for the boy. Seeing the tears in his eyes, she really didn’t know what to do even though something told her that Zoe would have known just what to say so instead she settled for trying to get the boy as far away from there as possible. “Don’t cry, I’m fine and that man will be too,” she assured him, not sure how the boy was connected to what had happened but still somehow certain that he was. “Why don’t you come with me, we’ll get you somewhere safe and then we can try and figure this out?” she suggested, hoping that he would take her up on the offer since he was clearly upset and confused about what was going on. "That's the thing. I don't know.. I don't.." Adam had been trying to convince himself that the problem resided in other people and not him. He'd always tried to provide a logical reason for it because that's what he's good at, but God.. it seemed like there was no point in any of that because he'd been the problem since day one.
Seeing that man in pain because of him made him feel rotten inside, like he was some kind of caged beast waiting to come out if given the opportunity. The lady's soothing voice had him blinking out of those dark thoughts as his eyes soon relaxed on her. "Really?" Adam wasn't a crybaby by nature, but one could say that he'd been under so much pressure and anxiety for the longest time that he just broke down the second something went wrong again.
Adam nodded his head a few times, his hand coming up to wipe the tears away from his eyes. "Yes please." Adam sniffed once then twice before looking over his shoulder at the man to see him already up, the pain that was so obvious on his expression long gone by now. Adam's fists clenched and unclenched as he tried his best to control himself so he wouldn't hurt anyone else. It was never an intention of his. He'd never hurt a fly in his life, how in the world did he manage to put someone through such a shock of pain? "I think.. I think I'm ready to go now." Adam nodded his head once, the flow of his tears had stopped by now, thankfully. He didn't want to embarrass himself any further in front of the lady.

With the amount of time that Hannah spent around humans now it was a little strange to think that she had spent over a thousand years watching them from afar without really interacting with them too much. There had been a few exceptions along the way, for example she had befriended a young woman named Amara before she took the immortality elixir and became one of the world’s first immortal beings but until she became the guardian for Zoe’s daughter and the other children that the woman looked after she hadn’t really thought too much about it. She loved her angelic family, after all they had been there with her through everything, but she also loved the human family that she had been adopted into and it had given her a new appreciation for her father’s creations. So many of Zoe’s feelings and memories lingered even though her spirit was now gone and Hannah was left trying to juggle them all. There was a time when she might have just left the boy to figure all of this out on his own but she couldn’t do that now. She had enough teenagers of her own that she was trying to look after but at the end of the day she knew that she wouldn’t be able to shake the feeling that she had failed in the mission of watching over humanity that her Father had set all of them if she refused to help him. “It’s ok, we’ll figure this out,” she assured him, knowing that there had to be an explanation behind what was going on with him. As the boy asked if the man he’d seemingly shocked really was alright, Hannah nodded in the man’s direction. “See for yourself,” she said, a half smile tugging at the corner of her mouth as the man got to his feet. As the boy said that he was ready to go now, Hannah nodded and led the way away from the group. She had no idea where she was going to take the boy so that he could hopefully fill her in on what was going on but she knew that she would have to figure something out pretty quickly. “Are you hungry?” she asked as they walked, knowing that that would be as good a starting place as any if they were going to figure this out. Adam wanted to tell her that she doesn't have to do this. That he can do it his own, but who was he fooling at this point? He had a lot of time to figure out himself and what he really was, but he couldn't figure anything out. He'd just succeeded in keeping himself fooled that he was alright and look where that got him in the end. Adam slowly looked over his shoulder at the man, relief washing over him when he saw the man up on his feet, not looking all that hurt to begin with.
He wasn't hurt. He wasn't hurt. He sighed in relief and looked back at the lady, his lips forming a small smile, the tremble in his hands slowly ceasing. Adam felt like he could trust her, so even though he was taught not to talk to strangers or follow them anywhere, she'd done nothing but help him calm down and made sure he was calm and always reassured her, so maybe that rule doesn't apply to her anymore. Not when she talked to him like she knew him, like she knew a way to help him.
Adam followed her, his eyes still on her and when the question about whether he was hungry broke the silence, he nodded his head slowly. "Yeah, I.. starving, actually." He said with a small chuckle following. "So you... are not freaked out by any of this?" Adam asked, his eyes focused on her, still.

Hannah knew that she needed to fly under the radar while she and the kids were in Mystic Falls and that should mean not getting involved with anything that might cause people to start asking questions but she also knew that she couldn’t walk away from someone in need. She had taken in some kids one by one after they found themselves thrown into the supernatural world without anyone to look out for them and she had decided to continue Zoe’s vocation of being a hunter but she refused to become one of those people who shot first and asked questions later. If someone had done that to the kids she looked after then they would be dead now and she knew that there were a lot of people out there who deserved the benefit of the doubt. She had taken a back seat when it came to the running of Heaven lately while she tried to figure things out but she still wanted to stay true to who she was and that meant that she couldn’t just walk away from a kid in need. Leading the boy away from the group that was gathered around the man he had shocked, Hannah wasn’t at all surprised when he said that he was starving and she couldn’t help but laugh. “Come on, let’s get you some food,” she grinned as she looked over at him. “Do you want to go to the Diner or the Grill?” she added, not sure which place he preferred. Either way didn’t really matter to her too much and as she would end up paying either way. As long as he felt comfortable then that was good enough for her. As he spoke again, she shook her head. “Not at all,” she assured him. “I’ve seen a lot of strange things. What happened with you isn’t the first and won’t be the last.”ADAM HAWTHORNE

It felt so weird, talking to someone who wasn't afraid of his powers or what they could do to someone. He had no idea his powers could progress into something like that, but apparently they did and it started filling his heart with a new fear of hurting someone completely innocent, just like that man. He looked okay now, but his hair was standing everywhere and his clothes did smell a little burnt. It definitely tugged on his heartstrings, knowing that he was the reason behind that shock.
Though the sound of her laughter put a gentle smile on the young boy's lips, feeling grateful for her kindness. "Thank you." He said a moment later, his smile still present on his lips. "I, uh, diner sounds great to me." Adam said with a small nod of his head following. The younger definitely looked curious when he heard her words, his eyes widening slightly. "Wait, strange things?" Adam questioned, his head tilting slightly. "So, you've seen other people do what I've done? There are others like me? Sorry, too many questions at once."

Hannah had seen a lot of strange things during her time watching over her Father’s creations but she knew that when someone suddenly developed powers then there was much more to it than simple coincidence. The Winchesters had dealt with the first round of Special Children that Azazel had created but she had heard rumours that there might be more and now she was starting to wonder if perhaps those rumours were true. Adam was clearly human and there seemed to be no logical explanation for why he had shocked the man not long before. She could sense that there was something different about him but what that was she couldn’t quite put her finger on and that bothered her but right now she wasn’t so worried about that. Adam was understandably scared and confused and her protective instincts had kicked in the same way that they did whenever one of her own children was feeling that way. Adam was around the same age as some of the kids she had taken in and she knew that she couldn’t turn her back on him any more than she had on any of them. “Great,” Hannah said, a smile working its way across her face as she looked over at him. “Is there anywhere in particular you want to go?” she asked, knowing that if Adam had a favourite place to eat in town then it might help put him at ease a little more. As he spoke again her smile returned. “Never apologise for asking question, it’s the only way we learn,” she said gently as they walked. “I haven’t seen others who are able to do what you did back there personally but I’ve heard about people like that,” she explained. “Have you ever done anything else out of the ordinary or seen something that you couldn’t quite explain?” she asked, knowing that she needed to figure out whether or not he actually knew about the supernatural world before she gave too much away.
