The year is 2018. Over at the DA's office, the people of New York City are happy to keep Jack McCoy as their District Attorney. Rafael Barba came close to resigning but Jack talked him into staying. However, Barba has cut professional ties with the Special Victims Unit, leaving Peter Stone to primarily handle prosecuting their cases. At SVU, everything continues as normal...or as normal as any day can be for them. At the 27th Precinct, Anita van Buren retired a few years ago, and Captain Toni Howard is now in charge. Cyrus Lupo and Kevin Bernard are still partners and work mainly with Michael Cutter and Connie Rubirosa at the DA's office. With the help of the DA's office, the members of SVU, the 27 precinct, and everyone in between work to keep the streets of NYC safe.
