━ there was not a part of him that was not broken ━ Kazimir stepped into the apartment, the half-diamond pick in his hand, as he quietly stepped into the threshold, his eyes scanning his surroundings quickly before he seemed to pick up on a noise, as subtle as it was, Kazimir still picked on it. He wasn't alone. It almost made him chuckle because it felt like he had stepped into a trap, but at the same time, he didn't feel like he was the one trapped here with them, but instead, they are the ones trapped here with him. They jumped him before he could progress much further, and one of them even managed to tackle him to the ground, making him release a pained noise.
He could easily overpower all of them, but then the game would be over way too quickly, and he was just getting started. That was how he found himself on his knees on the ground, his arms bound behind his back with the three individuals touring over him, spouting a bunch of nonsense in a feeble attempt at intimidating him, and he played the part well, especially since they didn't seem to recognize who he was. He didn't blame them, especially since the last time they met, Kazimir had been just a kid. Kazimir could almost imagine the blood of his family dripping from their hands, and he longed to replace that blood with their blood as they writhe on the ground, bleeding out and begging for mercy, for a swift death, only for Kazimir to not grant them any of it.
If there was one thing Kazimir lacked, it was mercy, after all.
Where was their mercy when they attacked his family? Kazimir snapped out of his thoughts when one of them yanked his head back with his hair. “You come lookin' for trouble, and trouble finds you.” The hunter warned through gritted teeth, speaking with so much hatred that it almost rivaled the hatred that he carried for them. “You're gonna wish you're dead when we're done with ya, boy.” Honestly, who speaks like that anymore? It almost made Kazimir break character. Almost. Instead, he cowered back and shook his head, his hair momentarily covering his vision. “Please. Please, don't. I can give you anything. There must be something that you want. Isn't that why you're doing this?” Kazimir pleaded, his eyes fixed on theirs, and one of them snickered while the other scowled even more.
“We don't need a reason to purge your kind from existence, boy. You are freaks of nature, and you deserve what's coming for you.” Kazimir's hand jerked subtly against the restraint, and it was definitely a good thing that he couldn't move his hands because then he would have clawed the man's throat out. His siblings didn't deserve any of that, none of his family members did. All they wanted was to live in peace, but their fate had been sealed the second they realized that they all carried the shape-shifter gene.
They were doomed from the beginning.
“Just kill him, Fedya.” One of the hunters spoke up, his voice grating on Kazimir's nerves. “Please. I have a family. Please don't.” He pleaded strongly, but the other only reached for his gun. Kazimir had long since freed himself from his restraints, but he was pretending to still be tied up. “Good. We'll kill them, too.” The other hunter, Fedya, the one currently wielding the gun said without a hint of remorse in his voice and before Kazimir could spring up from his seat and put an end to that play, everyone's attention seemed to shift elsewhere and when Kazimir looked, his eyes relaxed on a very familiar figure.
The siren.

━ watch me make them bow ━ IT WASN’T THAT HARMONY PARTICULARLY cared about the Russian dude one way or another. After Alex did that locator spell for him, Harmony had no plans of seeing him again.
But she didn’t have a lot to do during the day. Viktor was off fixing up that new house with siblings, and━other than interior design suggestions━Harmony would not help with that shit. She stayed at the motel, mostly, until the house was up to her standards. Yes, it was fucking sweet (and hot) that Viktor was fixing it so they could have a home, but that didn’t mean Harmony would magically become some farmstead housewife or some shit.
She followed the (still-unnamed) emo kid to the apartment building, though she was quite far behind. She almost lost him on the way up━not entirely sure which floor he was going to━but she watched the numbers stop, then headed up once it came back down. She was still lagging behind him, enough so that he was already inside when she traipsed into the hallway, finding the door with all the commotion behind it.
Harmony could sense their emotions like a flood to her senses. Someone was nervous, but most exuded anger, disgust, and she pressed her ear to the door to listen. He sounded scared. She frowned, debating with herself on what to do. This guy wasn’t her problem━she didn’t even know his name. But he was gonna die if she didn’t do something, and it wouldn’t be so bad to take out another few hunters. Less assholes for Viktor to worry about.
She twisted the knob before she could think about it any more, slinking in as quietly as possible, and immediately pumping out the siren energy she’d need to get rid of them. Harmony appeared in the doorway of the room they had him in, sharp blue eyes flicking from each of the men who looked in her direction. The one with the gun━Fedya, she assumed━grinned at her. “Hi, honey. You lost?”
Harmony nodded helplessly, and rushed to him, thankful that the others were too focused on her━too slow━to realize they should do something about it. She caught him by the chin and jerked open his mouth, her lips brushing his as she expelled venom into his mouth. When she pulled away, Harmony smirked and commanded, “Shoot your friends.” Before dropping to her Non-Friend Friend, her accquaintance, and beginning to untie his restraints. She found them already slipped off his wrists, though, and looked over his shoulder with a furrowed brow, expecting some kind of explanation as violence erupted around them.

━ there was not a part of him that was not broken ━ Kazimir straightened in his seat as he watched the scene unfold right before his eyes, his lips parting to tell Harmony against it, to tell her to go away because what was happening here did not concern her and he didn't need saving, but it was already too late for him to say anything and instead, he watched as she kissed Fedya which was how he assumed her abilities worked and before he knew it, she was commanding him to shoot the other hunters and just like that, their bodies dropped one after the other and as the chaos erupted around them, Harmony approached so she could work on his binds that kept him tied to his chair but that was when it became clear that he had freed himself a long time ago. He moved his hands to the front, rubbing at his left wrist while he looked at Harmony with an unimpressed look glued to his face. “We've got to stop meeting like this, siren.” Kazimir grumbled as he rose from his feet, barely minding the body that dropped by his feet. “I had it under control.” He didn't blame her for thinking otherwise since he was pretty much tied up and his face was bloody thanks to the gash that he had above his eyebrow, a wound that was long gone by now, thanks to his supernatural healing abilities. He was still pissed that he wasn't the one to kill them, though.
“How the hell did you find me?” Kazimir asked with a frown tugging at his features. Despite asking that question, he had a feeling he already knew the answer. The chaos around them seemed to dissipate, but only because there was nobody else for Fedya to shoot. Kazimir reached to pry the gun from his grasp, lest he took the cowardly way out before Kazimir could get the answers he needed. He would have been seriously pissed if Harmony had ruined his chance to get answers once again.
“You can go now.” Not a single 'thank you', huh? Well, he wasn't the most well-mannered guy out there, that was for certain. Kazimir forced Fedya to sit down, using the same ropes that the man had used to tie him down so he could restrain him and stop him from doing anything stupid like attack him, or the siren if he somehow broke free from her. He shouldn't care what happened to her, but it was difficult for him to stay true to that mindset when she just risked her own life to save him from danger. “What are you waiting for?” He asked, looking over at Harmony over his shoulder and in his attempt at tying the man, a single photograph dropped from his pocket and judging from how he didn't immediately start looking for it, he didn't even feel it fall. Instead, his eyes drifted back to the tied up hunter with a scowl resting on his features. He wanted to ask him so many things but with the siren still right there, he couldn't. Not yet, at least.

━ watch me make them bow ━ “YEAH, REALLY LOOKED LIKE YOU DID.” HARMONY grumbled back at him, irritated that she wasn’t given at least some praise for saving his ungrateful ass. Whatever.
Maybe he did━considering that he wasn’t even tied up anymore. Harmony ignored that little fact in favour of believing she was right, though.
“How did I find you?” She scoffed, “I was there when you figured out where you were even going.” But he likely already knew the answer to his stupid question━also, it wasn’t hard to follow him. She would’ve told this nameless asshole that if he didn’t want to be followed, he should’ve tried harder. But something told Harmony that he wanted to get wrapped up in this shit, considering his demeanour. At first, Harmony thought it was just an act, but then she realized that the eerily calm and in-control feeling she’d had on the other side of the door was coming from him.
The man that she’d controlled finally finished, and the nameless man began to force him around━didn’t he know Harmony could just do that for him? He probably didn’t want the help━or at least would insist so. “Thank you, Harmony,” She said in a high-pitched voice, meant to imitate the words he should’ve been saying, “You’re the best. Couldn’t have done it without you!” And then she grumbled, “Who taught you to be such a douche?” Harmony flicked some hair over her shoulder and crossed her arms, watching as he wrestled Fedya into the chair, with seemingly no plans to move.
“A thank you.” She sneered, seeing something fall in her periphery, but not looking until he was focused on the hunter again. It was a photo. Was that… what the fuck?
It was her mom. A lot younger, less “life-hardened-me,” but without a doubt, her mom. Without mentioning it, Harmony bent and scooped it up, quickly examining the photo before shoving it into her pocket. Why the fuck did he have a picture of her mom? Was he looking for her? Was that the only reason he fell into Harmony’s path? And he spoke Russian, too, so━wait, hold on, did she send him? No fucking way. Her mom wouldn’t care that much.
“I can help with that, y’know.” Harmony said, raising her brows. “Like… he probably has a shit ton of training that’ll make him resist you. But he can’t resist me,” She smirked at the double entendre, then met eyes with Fedya again, “It would mean so much to me if you sat pretty, right there, and didn’t struggle. Oh, and if you told him the truth. Can you do that for me, baby?” Harmony asked in a sickly-sweet voice, leaving the hunter to nod and smile obediently at her. He no longer fought against his restraints, and stared up at the man who’d tied him there━almost like an obedient puppy, just waiting for his next command. “Bet you’re happy I stayed around now.”

━ there was not a part of him that was not broken ━ Kazimir rolled his eyes, the look on his face was unkind, but none of that bled into the words that came out of his lips next. “I had a plan.” Kazimir grumbled. He wondered what it was about the siren that always had her stepping into his path and foiling his plans before he could execute them perfectly and Kazimir hated when things were done half-way. It made him feel as though his skin was burning up underneath, like he wanted to scrub and pick away at his skin until it was raw. Kazimir released a scoff at her next words, side-eyeing her for a moment before his lips parted to let out a sigh that he purposefully let out a little too loudly. “Perhaps the right question is why did you choose to follow me. I remember specifically asking you not to. Must you meddle into other people's business? Is that a flaw that all sirens have, or just you?” Kazimir could feel Fedya's eyes moving between the two of them, he could tell that the hunter knew that he had lost already. It was a sight that brought a small smirk onto the edge of his lips because nothing satisfied him more than that look on his face.
Kazimir crossed his arms in front of his chest as he listened to Harmony pretend to say things on his behalf before he narrowed his eyes slightly. “Since you have heard the words you clearly want to hear, will you be taking your leave now? I am not going to thank you.” Kazimir uncrossed his arms not long after and raised an eyebrow when she called him douche. He didn't make an attempt to defend his honor because he knew that he was unkind. He grumbled something about the siren giving him a headache already, although the words had slipped out in his mother tongue instead.
“You'd have to use your powers to get that out of me.” Kazimir offered coolly, all while keeping his eyes fixed on Fedya. He could tell that the man was going to be a challenge. He will just have to find a way to get what he needs out of him... Kazimir's train of thoughts trailed off at Harmony's next words, his brows furrowing as he wondered for a moment how she could possibly help him but it clicked almost immediately for him. His lips parted to disagree, to tell her to leave because he didn't need her help — or anyone else's for that matter — but he stopped when she used her abilities on the hunter, turning him into his own little personal lapdog which made things deceptively easy for him. “I didn't ask you to do that.” Kazimir said instead of any signs of gratitude as his brows furrowed in annoyance. He hated owing anything to anyone and now...
Fuck.
But he couldn't get too angry about it because now Fedya was cooperative. Now he could get exactly what he needed from that fucker. “I really am not, siren.” Kazimir grumbled when she made a bet that he was happy that she had stayed. Perhaps a part of him was, but he'd never admit that out loud. “A few years back, a group of hunters were involved in the slaughter of a family in Moscow. I want to know where they are hiding. Each, and every single one.” Kazimir fetched out the map that he had in his black coat and began to open it. He half-expected there to be a struggle, but Fedya only grabbed the red marker and began to circle around different parts on the map. Of course they'd be separated. They must've heard of the death of their friends already. “Thank you. Good dog.” Kazimir took the marker out of Fedya's hand. He only ever thanked him to get a reaction out of the siren because he wouldn't thank her, but he'd thank his greatest enemy. Kazimir neatly folded the map before stuffing it into the pocket of his coat, the marker also capped and placed inside his coat pocket before he pulled out his pocket knife. “See you in hell, you son of a bitch.” The words slipped out in Russian as he sliced the man's throat, his blood flowing out of the wound violently and he soon stepped away from the spray of blood, letting him bleed out right then and there. “Feeling like having dessert, siren? Or are you full, already?”

━ watch me make them bow ━ HE’D KNOW ABOUT SIRENS, WOULDN’T HE? Harmony didn’t dignify his bullshit with a response, otherwise she’d say something she’d regret. Well, maybe not regret, but something that wouldn’t be too fucking smart. “You’re just special, honey.” Harmony grinned at him, clearly egging him on, trying every angle just to see what he’d do.
“‘Course not, ‘cause you’re rude. And no, I’m not going anywhere.” Especially not when she picked up the photo of her mother. Every possible explanation spun wildly in her mind, none of which she was ready to settle on just yet. And she certainly wasn’t going to ask him while she could stick around and figure out some of the clues by herself.
Instead of using her abilities on the Russian-Speaking-Mom-Photo-Carrying douche, Harmony used them on the hunter. Which, yeah, he should’ve thanked her for that, but she doubted it was coming.
“Uh-huh.” Harmony smirked like she didn’t believe him, then listened as he questioned Fedya. Slaughtering a family in Moscow? Harmony’s eyes cut to the guy whose name she still didn’t know, and she was thankful she was a step behind him so he couldn’t see her. Did her mom have something to do with that? She’d definitely had a hand in the disappearance of Harmony’s dad, but a whole family? Unless… she was part of that family? Was this dude her, like, uncle or something? No way. It was more likely that Harmony’s mom helped kill them.
In the end, Fedya did exactly as she’d asked, and Harmony scoffed when he thanked the fucking hunter. Whatever, it wasn’t real gratitude, but it was still fucking annoying. She rolled her eyes, too, but refused to give him anything more than that.
She watched as he cut the hunter open, and Harmony stepped away just as he did, turning her nose up at the gurgling, the spraying, and… ew. “I’m good.” She puffed, “Something about eating pieces of shit like that…” Harmony shook her head. She did it when she had to━when she forced herself to━but she couldn’t now. Especially not with that picture of her mother in her pocket.
“Well, you’re welcome, anyway.” Harmony puffed, stepping towards the door. “Hey, we make a good team. Seeya ‘round, partner.” She said it only to dig at him, and smirked as she gave him a delicate little finger wave, then disappeared through the door. He’d probably come for the picture eventually. Hopefully. Then she could ask him why the fuck he had it.
