Med school had a habit of keeping Evan busy so it wasn’t very often these days that he ended up going out for the evening. It wouldn’t be too much longer before he would be done with school and then he knew that everything would change but before that he knew that he wanted to get out there and have some fun. Evan had found himself focusing on his studies ever since his parents died because he knew that he wanted to make them proud but after finding out that Milena was still alive he had come to realise that there was more to life. Evan knew now what it was like to feel all alone in the world, he’d still had his friends but he’d thought that his whole family had been wiped out and he knew that he never wanted to feel like that again. There was something going on with him, something that he still had yet to fully realise, as the truth was that there were times when he still woke up in strange places or he woke up covered in mud but no matter how hard he tried he just couldn’t seem to figure out what was going on. For a while he had wondered if perhaps it came from the trauma of losing his family but it had started happening after the fire that he had somehow escaped. He still didn’t know how he had managed that but something inside of him had changed that day and there were times when he thought that he heard a voice in the back of his mind but what it was saying wasn’t clear. There were times when he had wondered if he was losing his mind but he knew that it wasn’t that. He was certain that he wasn’t hurting anyone, though, so for now all he could do was carry on as normal and hope that in time he would figure it out. Evan knew that he didn’t want to worry about any of that tonight though, he wanted to go out and have some fun so he’d arranged to meet some friends at the Ruby Slipper club. It felt like it had been a lifetime since he had last been there since he normally found himself at different places around town but he found his way easily enough and he soon found his friends among the crowd. They’d ordered the first round and it was good catching up and dancing with them but as the glasses started to empty, Evan excused himself with the promise of returning with the next round. Making his way to the bar, he ordered the drinks and turned to look around him as he waited in turn for the bartender to sort them out. It was as he was waiting that he caught the eye of someone and Evan felt a smile touch his lips. For a moment he wondered if he should just wait for the drinks and return to his friends but he was meant to be having some fun and stepping out of his comfort zone as well so he made his way over and only came to a stop once he was next to the person. “Hi, can I buy you a drink?”ELIO CASTILE

— when you look at yourself, are you a man or a monster? —
Elio took his cap off and tossed it onto the bar before he sat down. He ran his fingers through his hair a few times to push back any stray strands of hair. The Ruby Slipper club was crowded as usual, music as loud as ever. Truth be told, he wasn’t entirely sure what he was doing here. Maybe a part of him just wanted to see Hannya and then he’ll be off, or maybe he just needed the distraction. Either way, he wasn’t going to sit and analyze his own actions and instead, he was going to enjoy a couple of drinks. He flagged the bartender to get his attention and ordered the strongest drink on the menu before he shrugged off his jean jacket not long after, folding it on his lap since the stool didn’t seem to have a back. He downed his drink in two sips, his eyes moving as if they had adapted a mind of their own to scan his surroundings to see if he could recognize any familiar faces before a frown began to tug at the features of his face when he couldn’t recognize anyone. The flashing lights didn’t exactly help, either.
Elio brought his attention back to the bartender so he could capture his attention yet again to have refill. It wasn’t long before he heard a voice calling out to him, offering to buy him a drink. He eyed the older man up and down. What an unattractive sight. He lifted his drink and wriggled it to show that he already had a drink. The other man tried to sweet talk him into taking him up on his offer which only seemed to bounce on Elio’s already worn out nerves. “If you don’t get out of my face, I’ll shove my hand down your throat and tear it out so I would never have to hear your voice again.” The man watched him with a surprised look on his face before he murmured an insult under his breath and walked away. Elio shook his head and returned to what he was doing — which was, frankly, nothing — before he lifted his glass up to his lips to take a quick sip, enjoying the burn that accompanied each sip.
Elio heard a voice not long after which made him roll his eyes again as he turned to look over at the owner of the voice. “You’re really fucking asking for it, aren’t you—” He expected to see the man from before, but no. The one who just offered him a drink was someone entirely different and Elio went quiet instead as he watched the other with an intrigued look. Huh. Instead of showcasing that he still had his drink, he lifted it to his lips to finish it, all while holding the other man’s gaze. He settled the glass down with a thud that was consumed by the loud music with ease. “I’ll take the strongest drink they have.” Elio offered, not turning the request down which was definitely a big change for him when he had always been so picky with his partners. But the other was attractive and Elio was in the mood to let loose and have some fun.

Evan had always been the kind of guy who took his studies seriously and it was the same with working at the hospital. He liked being kept busy but Evan knew that there was more to life than that. He had learned that the hard way after returning home to find his parents dead and he had thought that he had lost his sister as well. His whole world had been turned upside down that day but Evan knew that he wasn’t going to take anything for granted now. One thing he knew he needed to do was to start getting out there again and have some fun. It had been a while since Alysia had left and Evan had continued trying to get in touch with her and at least salvage their friendship if he could but she hadn’t responded so he knew that it was time to move on. He still didn’t know what had changed so suddenly for her but something had and Evan knew that he couldn’t keep on sitting around waiting for her to come back. She had made it clear that she wasn’t interested in being in his life anymore and Evan knew that he needed to respect that so he knew he couldn’t keep living in the past. That evening wasn’t going so badly, in fact he’d actually been having fun catching up with some of his friends. He couldn’t remember the last time he had done something like this and he knew that he was definitely going to have to make sure that he did it again more often. He had forgotten what it was like to just relax and have some fun and he knew that he wasn’t going to make that same mistake again. Heading to the bar to get the next round of drinks in, Evan knew that it wasn’t like him to offer to buy a stranger a drink and to be honest he rarely did something like that but he had wanted to step out of his comfort zone that night and he was determined to do just that. “Sorry, bad time?” he asked as the guy spoke, knowing that he wasn’t going to press his luck and insist if he didn’t want any company. As their eyes met the guy seemed to do a double take, though, and Evan realised that he must have mistaken him for someone else. Instead the guy downed his drink in one and Evan couldn’t stop a smile from touching his lips as he nodded and caught the eye of the bartender. “I’ll have the same, thanks,” he said, offering her a nod before he turned back to his companion. “I’m Evan,” he said, sliding the other guy’s drink over to him as the bartender returned to it before picking up his own drink and taking a sip. — when you look at yourself, are you a man or a monster? —
Elio's tongue poked at the inside of his cheek, his eyes relaxing on the other person once more. "Would've been for ya, if you weren't good-lookin." He replied a moment later, his tone rough, probably from disuse. He wasn't a sociable person — shocker, right? — and most of the time, he preferred to keep to himself to avoid any headaches. He'd much rather keep to himself if it meant avoiding listening to people yap on and on about things that didn't matter to Elio. Most of the time, whenever someone tried to strike up a conversation with him, he'd get up and walk the other direction before the conversation could progress or before he could give them the impression that he gave a shit they were spewing out of their chatty mouths. But, tonight, he was feeling chatty enough to stay when the other attempted to buy him a drink. Elio refused to admit that maybe the reason he was allowing this to happen was because he was feeling lonely.
Elio's eyes drifted back to the bartender, watching him work on prepping them a drink. He tapped his fingers on the bar top, his eyes slowly moving back to the other person when he introduced himself as Evan. Hm. The name didn't ring a bell, so at least he wasn't on Elio's list of people to kill. He'd rather not kill the other before he could have a taste of him. When he realized that he'd been looking at the other for too long without saying anything, his lips parted to speak. "Elio," He offered back as he reached for his drink to take a sip, swallowing it down without flinching at the strong taste left behind on his tongue. Elio placed down his drink and leaned back on his seat to get comfortable, although his posture screamed cockiness and power.
"So, Evan..." Elio dragged the man's name out, testing it on his tongue. He liked it. Elio's fingers traced over the rim of his glass absentmindedly. "I'm not a fan of small talk. Or talks, in general. So how 'bout we finish these drinks and have some more over at my place?" Elio didn't find it necessary to beat around the bush and pretend to be coy. It just wasn't his thing to pretend to not what he wants.

“I’ll take that as a compliment then,” Evan said, an amused smile forming on his lips as he looked over at the other man. He wasn’t used to doing this, he’d had a few flings and one night stands before but more often than not it was with people he already knew. This was different, he had never met the man before but the guy had caught Evan’s eye and he hadn’t been able to resist offering to buy him a drink. He could already tell that the guy would have told him to get lost straight away if he wasn’t interested but he hadn’t done and that was enough for Evan. Ordering their drinks, Evan claimed the empty stool next to the guy and introduced himself. He knew that he would have remembered seeing the guy around before but the truth was that with med school keeping him busy Evan didn’t tend to get to go out too often these days although he was starting to think that perhaps it was about time he changed that, especially if this was going to be the end result. Ever since his parents were killed he had felt like something was missing in his life. Something was definitely different, that much was certain, and he wasn’t quite sure what it was but if this ended up the way he thought it would then it would at least mean that he would be able to feel something even if it was only for a little while and that wasn’t a bad thing. As the guy introduced himself in return, Evan nodded. “It’s good to meet you Elio,” he admitted as he lifted his glass to his lips and took a sip once their glasses had been brought over. “That’s an unusual name,” he added, knowing that he hadn’t heard it before. It was one that he would remember, that was for sure. Taking another sip of his drink, Evan lifted his gaze to meet the other man’s when he said his name. It was almost like he was testing it and Evan’s expression turned to one of curiosity for a moment until the guy spoke again and only then did his smile return. “You don’t waste any time do you?” he chuckled. “I like that,” he added as he beckoned the bartender over and asked him to bring over a bottle so they could take it with them. Evan hadn’t necessarily expected it to happen quite so quickly but this was the way he had hoped the night would end up going so he knew that he wasn’t going to pass up the chance. He had gone to the club with his friends but he knew that they would understand. “Shall we?”ELIO CASTILE

Elio was honestly a dick, he knew that already, so it was hardly ever a surprise when someone called him that before storming away from him. Elio was probably not socialized properly as a kid, like how you'd socialize a dog to make sure it doesn't bite people in the future. He wasn't a sociable person either — shocker, right? — so for him to actually spend some time talking to someone was new and shocking, if anyone had been paying attention to Elio and his mannerisms tonight. "You should. I'm not usually this nice." Elio lifted his new drink to his lips to take a quick sip, savoring the taste of it.
An amused scoff soon made itself known as he processed Evan's words. It's good to meet you, Elio. He can't remember when was the last time he'd actually heard someone say that to him. Oh, right, never. "You're the first to think that." Elio commented aloud as he snapped out of his own thoughts, his eyes moving to relax on the other once more. He'd never left a good impression on anyone long enough to hear that actually say that to him. Well, as they say, there's a first for everything, right? Elio took a sip from his drink yet again, savoring the addicting taste and the slight burn that followed, hoping he could continuously experience that feeling until it was engraved in his mind. "What can I say? My mom has a knack for all things unusual." In more ways than he could ever begin to describe. He was a nightmare for most people, one he wished they'd never, ever wake up from.
"Why bother? We both know what we want, don't we?" Elio pointed out, though there was a small smirk that soon formed on his lips when Evan told him that he liked that. Well, that was just an added bonus, wasn't it? Elio nodded his head and hopped off from his seat, reaching out to grab his jean jacket to shrug it on before he began heading toward the exit of the ruby slipper club. "Did you drive here?" Elio questioned as he stepped outside, happy to finally be out of the damned club.

Evan hadn’t been out with his friends for a while but he had promised himself that that year he was going to make sure that he had some fun and he was determined to stick to that. Med school was something that had to be taken seriously but Evan knew that life was short. His parents had been killed and his sister would have died too if she hadn’t managed to activate the powers neither of them had known she’d even had and talked her way out of there. Evan himself had been caught in a fire and had somehow miraculously escaped without a scratch so she knew better than to take any of this for granted. For far too long he had completely immersed himself in his studies and while he knew that he still wanted to become a doctor, he also knew that he wanted to have some fun while he was still young and that’s exactly what he intended on doing that evening. Buying a drink for a complete stranger wasn’t something that he would normally do but the guy was good looking and Evan knew that they could have some fun together so he knew that it wouldn’t hurt. The guy seemed to be interested as well which was definitely a bonus as far as he was concerned. As Elio said that he wasn’t normally this nice, Evan couldn’t help but laugh. “Well in that case I’ll consider myself lucky,” he chuckled as he took a sip of his drink. There was something different about the guy, he had a bad boy thing going for him which wasn’t something that Evan was normally interested in but this time he couldn’t help it. It never mattered to him whether the person he hooked up with was male or female but he had a feeling that Elio was someone that he would remember. “I would say I’m sure that’s not true but I get the feeling it might be. Even so, I mean it,” Evan admitted as Elio said that he would be the first to think that it was good to meet him. That should have probably been enough to put Evan off but it wasn’t and he met Elio’s gaze levelly. It seemed like Elio didn’t deal with people too much but Evan wasn’t one to judge. “That’s not a bad thing, at least you know there won’t be anyone else around with the same name,” he offered. As Elio said that they both knew what they wanted, Evan felt his smile return. “You’re right about that,” he nodded. Evan knew exactly what he wanted right now and it seemed that Elio did too so he was right, there really wasn’t any point in waiting around. Finishing his drink, Evan paid for the bottle the bartender brought over and picked it up once he’d slipped on his jacket. “Yeah I did, do you live far?” he asked as he pulled his keys out of his pocket. He hadn’t been there for long before he got talking to Elio so he knew that he was fine to drive even though he’d originally planned on picking his car up in the morning. Unlocking the car, he climbed in and waited for Elio to do the same before setting off. ELIO CASTILE
