━ in this world that kills beauty ; even gods cannot survive the fall. ━ Damian was by no means a good guy. He was a demon for Hell's sake. He should thrive on the discomfort of others, should laugh at the mere sight of tears. He should cause misfortune to those around him, but oddly enough, he wasn't doing any of those things. A part of him wondered if he was a faulty demon, if he should go back to Hell and be tortured some more, just to tighten those loose screws in his brain. But in the same breath, he didn't want to go back. Hell was ... hell. He wanted to stay away from it for many, many moons and maybe that's why he's behaving to some degree. No dead bodies left because of him (except for the ones that once belonged to his host but that was way back when he was first released from Hell, back then, he was truly ... Evil) he wasn't sure what exactly changed or how to bring back that side of him but it helped him stay undetected. Helped him stay by Clea's side for a little while longer.
Or maybe, the reason why he's behaving so well is because he didn't want to disappoint her. He wanted to prove that he could be good for her. Maybe what they say is true, that love can change anybody for the better. Was it love? It felt like it━ Damian was rudely brought back to the current moment when someone bumped into him, followed by an familiar feeling of something burning. It took him a moment to realize that it was his skin. Damian released a wince and looked at the woman that had bumped into him, her coffee now all over his suit, his very expensive suit, mind you and also over the flesh of his hand and abdomen after it managed to seep through his dress shirt. "Ah, bloody hell! Would it kill you to open your eyes, lady? Now look at the state of me. It looks like a dog took a wee on me." Damian grumbled in dissatisfaction as he attempted to brush away the stains from his shirt but it was doing him no good. "I'm s--sorry. I didn't mean to, ah, I didn't m--" Damian's brows furrowed at the woman's voice that was laced with hints of pain. Surely he wasn't that muscular to have caused her actual pain.
But then he noticed the fact that she had a big stomach and honestly, he wasn't fat-shaming her, it was big. Like, pregnant big. She had her hand on her stomach and it looked like she was going into labor. He watched as the woman collapsed onto the ground, screaming like something was crawling out of her. "Uh... Sorry for asking, but are you in labor?" The woman looked at him like he had the lowest brain cells and it definitely answered his question. "Ah, well, good luck to you, the hospital is that way." Damian gestured behind him and began walking away from the woman but something made him stop. It was probably the second pained noise that escaped the woman. Damian tipped his head back with a groan falling from his lips. "Bollocks." Damian turned around and began making his way back to the woman, helping her up to her feet before he hailed a taxi to take them there. "We're almost there, hang on." And boy did that woman hang on. She grabbed onto his arm, his hand, his jacket, his shirt and even the pant leg. She grabbed everywhere and she gripped tight. Damian almost wanted to shake her off but held back from doing so, knowing that it was quite possibly the contractions making her do that. He began guiding her into the hospital once the taxi pulled over and once they were inside of the hospital, he called out for help. "Excuse me, this woman here is in labor. She said she's been in labor all morning, so I do think the little champ is about to pop out." Damian released the woman once she was on the wheelchair and almost immediately, she was wheeled away from him.
"Are you her husband?" She asked in a rather curious voice which tore a stunned chuckle from his lips. "No, I'm afraid not. She merely dropped her coffee all over me and I..." Damian trailed off when he noticed a very familiar aura.
An angelic one.
Their eyes met for a moment and he quickly turned his attention to the nurse. "I just remembered I left the stove on. Bye now, take care." Damian turned around almost right away and began making his way to the exit. Hell no.

Starting over in a new town was always risky but so far moving to Mystic Falls was turning out to be one of the better decisions she’d ever made as far as Talia was concerned. Before she got there her life was a complete mess, she had almost lost her life a few times but each time someone had come along and saved her. Raven had been there for her throughout her life without her even realising it and Asariel had stepped in the time when she hadn’t been there. Talia knew that she was lucky to have both of them in her life but if she was honest she really didn’t know what she had done to deserve them but she knew that she wouldn’t have it any other way. The two of them often didn’t get along and considering that she was currently playing host to Asariel Talia often found herself getting caught in the middle but the truth was that it was worth it and most of the time now she tended to be able to drown it out when she had to so she knew that it could easily be a lot worse. For the first time since her parents died things seemed to be going well for Talia and she knew that she wanted to make the most of it while it lasted. There were a few times when she thought that she’d found something good in her life but each time she had found herself disappointed when it was all ripped away from her. She would be lying if she said that she wasn’t worried that the same thing might end up happening again this time around. In the past Raven had always disappeared and she knew that it was crazy to want a demon to stay in her life this time but Talia couldn’t help it. She cared about Raven even though Asariel had urged her not to and she couldn’t help but feel a connection that ran so much deeper than that. It was terrifying because Talia really didn’t want to end up getting hurt again considering she had been let down by just about everyone in her life who had ever mattered to her but she couldn’t bring herself to push her away either because Raven meant too much to her. It was scary to say the least but she was doing her best to go on with her life as normally as she could while she tried to figure it all out and if she was honest having work to focus on really did help. Needless to say Talia was throwing herself into her work more and more lately and that day was no exception. She loved being a paramedic and she knew that was never going to change. Call after call had been coming in so Talia had been pretty rushed off her feet and she was beyond glad that Asariel hadn’t needed to take control of her body. The two of them had reached an understanding, Talia had control whenever she had to work and during some of her free time as well and Asariel took control whenever she needed to. It might seem a bit strange to some but it worked for them and Talia was glad about that because the angel really had become a friend. She knew it was crazy that out of everyone she was closest to an angel and a demon but that was the way it had worked out. Her partner was human and Talia knew that she had to keep all of this from them but as they dropped off their latest patient at the hospital Asariel suddenly became on edge inside her head and Talia couldn’t deny that she was worried. As Asariel warned that there was a demon nearby, Talia’s gaze swept around the area until her gaze came to rest on a man dropping off a woman who was in labour and Asariel confirmed that he was the one. Without even thinking about it Talia made her way forward as the guy started heading in the direction of the exit after promising her partner that she would be back in a minute. “That was a nice thing you did for that woman,” she said as she caught up to the man. “What made you decide to help her?” she asked, unable to deny that she was curious. She knew that demons weren’t meant to help people and she didn’t understand why Raven had helped her all those times so there was a part of her that hoped that learning why the man had decided to help the pregnant woman might just help her figure it out. ━ in this world that kills beauty ; even gods cannot survive the fall. ━ Damian apparently couldn’t get away fast enough because not long after, he was hearing a voice not too far away from where he was. He stopped in his tracks and cursed under his breath. Great, he was about to get into a whole scuffle with yet another angel. He was, indeed, quite popular these days, huh? Those feathered assholes just couldn’t get enough of him. Though rather than being thrown around or having countless demeaning words thrown at him from the other, it was mostly just a curious question. He frowned a little in confusion and turned to look at the other. “I just wanted to and so I did.” Damian responded, his tone was still a little wary as if he was expecting the other to suddenly manifest her blade and shove it deep in his chest. Angels were always rather quick to purge any and all demons. He understood that instinct, in a way. He, too, felt that desire whenever he interacted with other demons. They were very annoying.
“Unlike my kind, I don’t find great pleasure in torturing weak humans.” Saying that out loud was definitely weird, wasn’t it? He was so unlike the other demons but he did find comfort in being different from others. Or, well, he found pride in being different from them. After all, who would Damian be without his pride that mostly took ninety-nine percent of his personality?
Maybe the reason he didn’t want to hurt anyone was that he was desperately trying to be better for Clea. Maybe he just didn’t want to see that look of fear on her face. He wanted her to feel safe around him rather than afraid. “So, who’re you transporting in there?” He made a vague gesture to the angelic aura surrounding the other. He kept his distance from the other, just in case she got any bright ideas to put his meatsuit out of his misery.

Talia wished she could say that her life was less complicated before she learned about the supernatural but that wasn’t true. Her life had never been straightforward, ever since her parents died she had been drifting through life doing her best to survive. She should have died more than a few times before reaching adulthood and if Raven hadn’t been looking out for her then she knew that she would have done. Talia would be the first to admit that she was still learning about the supernatural world but she was doing her best to get her head around it all and she was lucky in that she had two pretty good teachers. Both Raven and Asariel had different ways of looking at the world and that was to be expected considering that one was a demon and the other was an angel but Talia had always been the kind of person who liked to form her own decisions and that hadn’t changed. She knew that Asariel didn’t approve of her relationship with Raven but Talia had meant it when she had said that she wanted to be with her so as far as she was concerned the angel was just going to have to deal with it. She had heard about other demons from Raven but Talia had never met one for herself and she couldn’t deny that she was curious now that she had come across one at the hospital. As he said he just wanted to help the woman so he did, Talia found herself nodding. “Well, thank you for helping her,” she said sincerely. “It sounds like you got her here just in time.” She knew that it would have been scary for the woman to go into labour somewhere other than the hospital so she was grateful to him for bringing her in. As he spoke again, Talia felt a smile touch her lips. “That’s actually pretty refreshing, I’ve only met one of your kind before and she wasn’t what I expected either,” she admitted. Talia was starting to realise that it wasn’t fair to judge even demons without getting to know them so she knew that she was going to have to make sure not to make that same mistake again. As he asked who she was transporting, Talia felt a smile touch her lips. “I’m Talia and I’m Asariel’s vessel but she lets me stay in control a lot of the time,” she explained. “We’re not going to hurt you, I give you my word. I guess you could say I’m just trying to learn a little more about all of this.”DAMIAN

━ in this world that kills beauty ; even gods cannot survive the fall. ━ Damian nodded his head slowly when she thanked him for helping the woman. “In that case, you're welcome.” Truth be told, he wasn't sure what drove him to save that woman when every fiber of his being should tell him to do the exact opposite. There was a curious look that stretched across his features when she revealed that she had met another one of his kind and apparently, she wasn't very “demonic” either. “Huh. I guess there's something faulty in the torture down there.” Damian breathed out with a scoff following. It was certainly a surprise to hear that there was another demon who showed emotions just like him. The demons back in hell would drag them both kicking and screaming if they ever heard about them expressing emotions, that's for certain.
“Ah, how kind.” Damian eyed the angelic aura wearily before he seemed to relax a bit because so far, the angel wasn't jumping back in control to kill him, but he still kept his distance, just in case. “Well then, I suppose a 'thank you' is in order for not killing me.” Damian said a moment later, one hand now buried inside the pockets of his slacks.
Then, he seemed to get the woman's word that they weren't going to hurt him which had him tipping his head up slowly, looking down at the woman with a hum spilling from his lips. He seemed to consider something for a moment. “Is that so?” Damian hummed before he nodded his head at last. “In that case, I do have time to kill. So, you may ask me whatever you would like.”

Talia had never thought she would find herself thrown into a world where angels, demons and monsters that went bump in the night were real. She had always thought of Raven as her guardian angel but other than that she had never really believed in anything else out of the ordinary. Since agreeing to become Asariel’s vessel she had learned a lot and she was still trying to get her head around some of it now. She hadn’t expected to come across a demon helping a woman who was in labour but then again Raven wasn’t completely what she would have expected from a demon either so she knew that perhaps she needed to start rethinking that. She’d had Asariel’s voice in her head for too long telling her what demons were meant to be like but so far the ones she’d met seemed different and now she couldn’t deny that she was curious. Offering him a smile as he spoke, Talia let out a laugh as he said that there was something faulty with the torture down there. “I don’t know about that, I think it’s a good thing that you’re both breaking the mould,” she assured him. Raven was definitely different, she was able to show emotions and Talia was starting to suspect that this guy might be similar in that respect. There was definitely something about him but she knew that she didn’t want to offend him by asking. “You don’t need to thank me, you helped that woman and I’ve seen the other demon do something good as well. As long as you don’t hurt me, I won’t let Asariel hurt you,” she promised. Asariel was already there in the back of her mind telling her that this was a bad idea and that she needed to get as far away from this demon as possible but Talia didn’t want to listen just yet. Talia was surprised when he said that she could ask him whatever she liked and she thought about it for a moment. “Before you said you don’t like torturing people and I’ve heard that some want to bring about the apocalypse. Do all demons have different roles and if so, what’s yours?” she asked, unable to deny that she was curious. DAMIAN
