Raven was feeling things. Now, for someone else that might've been completely normal. It was completely normal to feel things, isn't it? It shouldn't be that big of a deal. But not for Raven. It was completely a big fucking deal for Raven because she was a demon. She had never felt things as a demon. No pain, grief, anger, happiness. She couldn't feel most things that people experience on a daily basis. She felt ... human and it was the thought that disturbed her greatly.
She didn't want to be human.
Humans are weak creatures. They feel things so intensely. She didn't want to be part of that world. She had given up on it the day she died. She didn't want this. But there was no stopping it or even ignoring it. Today was proving to be a weirdly intense day for Raven. She had seen a puppy on the side of the road and it looked so cute to the point where she had felt something slide down her cheeks. When she lifted her hand up to wipe at her cheeks, she found that she was crying. There were actual tears sliding down her cheeks and it was the revelation that deeply disturbed her.
What was happening to her?
It was the fact that she couldn't control it that scared her the most. She hated this. Raven was overwhelmed with the intense urge to see her. Talia. She needed to see her. She ... missed her. Raven started heading to the hospital because it was the place she knew she'd find Talia without having to look for too long. Raven pushed the entrance door open and headed into the hospital until she reached the front desk. "I need to see Talia." She said with a quick nod of her head following. "Is there an emergency?" The woman questioned in an oddly calm voice that pissed Raven off. She inhaled deeply and looked up momentarily before she released the breath she'd been holding. "No. I just need to see her. Tell me where to find her or I'll go look for her myself." The woman looked up at her and offered a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "I'm afraid you can't do that. She's working at the moment and unless there's an emergency..." Raven didn't let her finish her words as she reached over for the pen that the woman was holding and dug the tip of it into the palm of her own hand and dragged it down to cut into her skin which made the woman's eyes bulge wide open as she watched blood seep from the open wound.
Raven was pushed to one of the rooms and told to sit tight while she sent out for Talia to come see her. Raven let out a drawn out groan of pain the second she was alone because that fucking hurt. Usually wounds like these wouldn't even hurt her but for some reason, she was feeling pain right now. A lot of it. Shit. She needed to see Talia now.

Talia always preferred it when her work kept her busy but that day had been a pretty strange day. Call after call had ended up coming in and she had lost count of the amount of trips that she had made to and from the hospital. Something seemed to be going on in Mystic Falls and she wasn’t sure what it was but if she was honest she wasn’t sure that she wanted to know either. There was a time when she had lived her life completely oblivious to the fact that there was anything more out there. She had always believed in guardian angels because Raven had been there to save her life a few times over the years and she had never looked any different but now Talia knew the truth – Raven was a demon and Talia herself was playing host to an angel. A few years ago she never would have thought that that would end up happening but Asariel had made her an offer that she just couldn’t refuse. If she’d said no then Talia knew that she would have died and while it was true that there were times when she thought that it might be easier to give up, that just wasn’t who she was. She had always been a fighter and it hadn’t just been her life on the line, her former best friend would have died as well and even though Talia still blamed the woman for telling her ex about her plan to leave in the first place she had known that she couldn’t let someone die, even someone that had wronged her. Instead she had said yes to Asariel and it had taken them a while to find their feet but now Talia honestly felt like she had gained a friend who was always going to watch her back. So much had changed lately and it was enough to make Talia’s head spin. She had learned that both angels and demons were real and that was a lot in itself but lately she had found herself thinking about Raven a lot more than she should. She couldn’t help but feel drawn to the demon and she had no idea why but she was doing her best to resist that pull as much as she could. As her shift finally came to an end, Talia was pretty sure that she had never been as relieved to knock off for the day. After restocking the rig for the next paramedics to use it, Talia got changed and was on her way out when one of the nurses called her over. As the woman told her what had happened and asked if she knew the person, Talia nodded. “I do. Thanks, I’ll deal with it,” she said before heading in the direction of the room that the nurse had directed her to, knowing that right now keeping her distance wasn’t an option. Sure enough Raven was there waiting for her and Talia’s eyes widened in surprise at the sight of the blood. She wasn’t too sure what she had expected but Raven had always seemed so invincible to her so it was a shock to see that she could bleed but Talia’s training kicked in straight away and she began gathering supplies from the drawers as she made her way over. “Raven, what’s going on?” she asked as she set the supplies down next to the demon and began examining the wound. “The nurse told me you did this to yourself so you could see me, what’s so important?”RAVEN

Raven's eyes lifted and they settled on Talia as she entered the room. Seeing her was more than enough to make her heart settle down as her emotions seemed to ease down and the rise and fall of her chest slowly eased down until it was back to normal again. Why did she affect her so much? Why did it matter to her heart whether she was close or not? She was just a toy that she liked to play with and Raven had a lot of those laying around... Lies. She knew that from day one that Talia was different and it began when she rescued her and didn't come back just to torture her like she had done with others before. She knew from day one that she was special but she was just always trying her fucking hardest to pretend like she wasn't. She watched as Talia approached, grabbing hold of her tools almost immediately which made her release a small scoff. Her god damn heart and her kindness... They were going to get her killed one day. She watched as Talia examined her wound without really saying anything at first.
"Ever since that whole damn experiment I've–" Raven, for the first time, looked lost. It was a look that was completely different from her arrogant and cocky one. "Feeling things." Raven finally finished what she'd wanted to say. "I wanna shut it off somehow. I don't care what I have to do, I can't keep going. I thanked someone, T. He held the door open for me and I thanked for it." Raven reminisced like it was the weirdest shit ever for her.
"Then I saw this commercial on the TV about animals in need and next thing I know there's something sliding down my cheek..." Tears. She had cried when she seen the commercial. "I hate this, T. I hate being like this. I don't know how to stop it and it's getting on my god damn nerves. Even this damn wound hurts. They... never used to hurt."

Talia had made a few friends during her time in Mystic Falls so far but the truth was that other than with Asariel, the most meaningful connection she’d formed was with Raven. It seemed strange even thinking that given that she was a demon but she had been there for Talia ever since the day her parents died. Talia still didn’t know how she had always known when and where to show up when she needed her, perhaps it was luck or perhaps it was fate drawing them back together each time, but either way Talia knew that she wouldn’t still be here without her. She owed her life to Raven and even though Asariel had urged her to be cautious and keep her distance, the truth was that Talia didn’t want to do that. She felt comfortable around Raven even after they were both taken and experimented on and the truth was that she cared about her. That was something that she hadn’t expected but it had and she knew better than to push her away. Talia wasn’t sure if Asariel quite understood the depth of her feelings for Raven, if she even suspected then Talia was certain that she would never hear the end of it, but if she was honest she wasn’t entirely sure that she understood that herself and she knew that she wanted to try and figure it out sooner or later. Being around her like this was enough to make Talia’s heart start to race a little but she tried to ignore it, knowing that she had a job to do. Raven had hurt herself in order to get to see her and that worried Talia but that was something that she knew they could talk about later. Right now she needed to take care of Raven’s wound although as she said that she’d been feeling things ever since they were experimented on, Talia’s eyes widened in surprise. “You’ve been feeling things?” she asked, not quite able to believe it. Right from the start Raven had made it clear to her that she didn’t feel things but now that seemed to be changing and it was a surprise to say the least. “Thanking someone hardly seems like the end of the world,” she said as she worked even though she knew that for Raven it was probably a pretty big thing. It was what Raven said next that shocked her most, though, and she lifted her gaze from Raven’s hand to let their eyes meet. “You actually cried?” she asked, disbelief clear in her tone as she looked up at the demon. “I know you hate this but I’m not sure if it is possible for you to go back to the way you were. Whatever they did has opened the floodgates and once that has happened it can be impossible to close them again,” she said gently as she got back to work, cleaning the wound before placing some gauze over the wound and wrapping a bandage around it. “How does that feel?”RAVEN

Raven nodded her head once at Talia’s question. ”It shouldn’t even be possible! Demons aren’t supposed to feel things. What am I now? A half demon?” There was a bitter scoff that fell from Raven’s lips, feeling bitter and angry, but she was also feeling a hint of sadness, an emotion she’d never felt before and it made no damn sense to her. ”To me, it is! I’m used to torturing people, T! I’m used to hearing them scream in pain. But this makes no damn sense to me. How is this even possible?” What did those creatures do to her? And how could she reverse it back to normal? She didn’t want to feel things.
She didn’t want to be human.
Nothing good ever happens when you’re human.
”Yes! Crazy, isn’t it? It felt so weird… So wet and salty.” Raven’s brows furrowed in disgust as she recalled how it had felt to cry. ”This makes no goddamn sense, T. Does Ariel feel the same way, too? Does she think that I’m gonna continue changing?” Raven questioned, her eyes moving away from Talia to look down at the bandage that was now wrapped around her wound.
”Hurts…” And it shouldn’t hurt. It shouldn’t even be leaving anything behind, it should have healed a while ago but instead, it was still there and it was hurting her. ”I haven’t felt pain in so long.” Raven gnawed on her bottom lip as she moved her hand away from Talia. ”This makes no damn sense.” She murmured, her disbelief visible in the tone of her voice. ”I fucking hate this.” And she will most likely continue to hate it for a long, long time. ”What the hell am I supposed to do?”

Talia would be lying if she said that there weren’t times when she had found herself wondering what it would be like if Raven could feel things the way that she did but she hadn’t thought that it would ever actually happen. It didn’t seem like it was something that should be possible but then again what had been done to them wasn’t natural either. So far Talia hadn’t experienced any side effects yet but that didn’t mean that she wouldn’t and if she was honest she was dreading what could happen. She had tried asking Asariel if she could sense that anything was wrong with either of them but even though she’d said that she couldn’t, Talia still wasn’t entirely convinced. “Is that even possible?” she asked, not knowing any better as Raven asked if she was a half demon. The moment the words left her lips she could pretty much feel Asariel rolling her eyes but the truth was that Talia was still getting used to all of this. She was still learning and there was a lot to take in to say the least. “I have no idea, all I can think is that it has to be the people who took us who did this to you,” she said even though she knew that those words weren’t going to bring much comfort to Raven. She wasn’t sure what had been done to them or if there was any way to fix it but she couldn’t stop herself from wanting to help Raven in any way she could. “That sounds about right,” she said, a sympathetic smile forming on her face as Raven described what it was like to cry. “I’ve tried asking her but she has no idea. At the moment she can’t even tell me if there’s something different about us but I feel like there must be if they were able to do this to you,” she explained, not even bothering to remind Raven that that wasn’t the angel’s name this time. It was a thought that scared her to no end but the truth was that she didn’t even know where to start with trying to figure it out. It all felt so surreal and on top of that the feelings that she was developing towards Raven didn’t help matters at all. She knew that she should do as Asariel had said and stay away from Raven but she just couldn’t bring herself to do it, if anything she felt like she was being drawn to her more and more and that worried her. “It’s ok Ray, it won’t hurt for long,” she said, the nickname falling from her lips for the first time without her even realising it. As Raven said that she hated this and asked what she was supposed to do, Talia’s eyes met hers. “I have no idea but I do know that we’re going to figure this out together,” she assured her, pretty sure that there wasn’t any other choice for either of them right now. ”Shouldn’t be. I never heard anything like this happening before,” Raven didn’t understand what was wrong with her or why she was feeling like this. She can’t remember when was the last time she felt any emotions, let alone shed any tears for whatever reason. She was used to feeling absolutely nothing and it was something that made her a lot stronger, she was not ruled by her emotions unlike those pesky little humans who cried over the stupidest little thing. Back then, she was bouncing between the lines of sociopathy, so even then, she didn’t feel a lot of emotions but right now, it was overwhelming for someone who did not understand what she was even feeling.
Was she happy? Sad? Angry? Disappointed?
Too many possibilities and little to no knowledge of any of them. Raven’s tongue rushed over the surface of her bottom lip, the surface feeling dry and so was her tongue. Her throat felt tight like she was slowly but surely being suffocated alive or something. She despised this feeling and wished for it to stop. Raven released a small noise of agreement with Talia when she pointed out that it might have been those people who took them that changed Raven like this. ”Question is, how do I find someone who does not want to be found?” Raven doubted they could be easily located, even with a witch’s spell. Raven was beginning to sink into hopelessness as her heart sat heavily inside of its ribcage, leaving her with little to no desire to do anything.
Was this what humans called depression?
In that moment, she decided that she fucking hated that. ”Oh there’s definitely something wrong with me.” Raven didn’t doubt it for one second. ”If any other demons hear about this… About me, they’ll gut me like a fish.” There was no hesitation in her voice because she truly knew how evil demons can be. ”I don’t want to go back to Hell.” That place…
It was straight out of her worst goddamn nightmare.
Raven’s chest stopped heaving when she heard the way Talia addressed her. She looked at her with her head tilted slightly to the side as if caught off-guard by her words. Funny how a goddamn nickname could tear such a reaction out of her.
Weak.
Raven nodded her head once at Talia’s words before she released a small sigh. ”Since you’re the … human between the two of us, you can teach me how to… feel things. Just none of the sappy stuff yet.” Raven wrinkled her nose and shook her head to show her distaste for overly happy emotions. ”That stuff we can save for last, yes?”

Talia didn’t understand what was going on right now any more than Raven did but she knew that she couldn’t really say that out loud in front of Raven. The demon was clearly really struggling right now and even though Asariel’s voice was still in the back of her mind telling her that this could just be a trick, the truth was that Talia believed what Raven was saying. She had been spending time with the demon ever since they’d found each other again and even though she shouldn’t, Talia couldn’t deny that she cared about Raven. She knew that it was crazy to care about a demon who could probably quite easily stab her in the back without thinking about it twice but she didn’t get the impression that Raven would do that. The demon had been there to save her so many times over the course of her life and Talia still didn’t know why she had gone to such trouble for her but she knew better than to question it too much. No matter how hard either of them tried to deny it there was a connection between the two of them and it was something that Talia was grateful for. She didn’t find it easy to trust people and she didn’t often let them get close to her after everything that had happened but Raven was different and even though she was someone that Talia knew that she should be keeping her distance from she just couldn’t seem to stay away. “I think that makes whoever did this that much more dangerous,” Talia admitted. Whoever had taken them had known that she was playing host to Asariel although the angel seemed happy to let her stay in control a lot of the time. She got the impression that after everything that had happened Asariel wanted to keep her head down and avoid drawing too much attention to herself which was fine with Talia since that was what she wanted too. As Raven asked how she could go about finding someone who didn’t want to be found, Talia’s expression turned thoughtful for a moment. “How do you normally track people down?” she asked, not sure whether Raven had some kind of ability that would help her with it or not. She’d heard whispers about people who called themselves the Dread Doctors but nothing substantial and she wasn’t sure that anyone truly knew who they were. As Raven said that the other demons would gut her like a fish if they heard about what had happened Talia’s expression immediately turned to one of concern but as Raven said that she didn’t want to go back to Hell, that was when something else kicked in, something that she hadn’t expected. “I won’t let that happen,” she said fiercely, surprised at just how protective of Raven she felt. The demon had saved her life a few times in the past and Talia knew that she wouldn’t hesitate in returning the favour if she got the chance. “I just found you again, I’m not losing you now,” she added. She didn’t have any family and even though she was friendly with some of the people she worked with they didn’t truly know her or what she had been through, not in the way that Raven did, and she knew that she wasn’t ready to lose that connection. She had been doing her best not to get too attached to Raven but the truth was that Talia cared about her and she knew that she would do whatever she could in order to keep her safe. As Raven asked her to teach her how to feel things before asking if they could save the sappy stuff for last, Talia couldn’t help but laugh. “I can try but no promises we’ll be able to save that for last,” she grinned. “My shift is over so do you mind waiting while I grab my stuff and then we can get started?” she suggested, knowing that there was no time like the present. ━ 'cause nothing comes too easily when joy is dangerous ━
I think that makes whoever did this that much more dangerous, How do you normally track people down?
Raven caught the flesh of her bottom lip between her teeth for a moment, her eyes glossing over for a moment as she found herself sinking into her thoughts and memories, trying to see what she could remember about them, but the whole thing passed like she was in a daze, or drugged. She didn't know it was even possible for demons to enter a state of delirium but apparently, it is. All she could remember was the masked faces of her and Talia's abductors, nothing else. No voice, no visible markings. They were so thorough and so careful with their experiment that it managed to scare her because for once, she wasn't in control and Raven was nothing without her control. "Tell me about it," Raven breathed out with a small scoff following as she lifted her hand up to brush a strand of messy honey blond hair away from her face. "Normally? I torture people for information about whoever I'm hunting, then once they crack and tell me everything I need to know, I hunt 'em down." Raven said with a shrug of her shoulders following as she revealed the truth without a hitch, not really worried about anyone hearing her say that. They'll probably think she was a deluded person, or like most men, they'll think she's too much of a fragile flower to actually hurt anyone. "But in this case, who the f*ck do we ask about a couple of masked freaks?" Raven tongued at the inside of her cheek in irritation, her eyes narrowing to slits as her eyes moved away from Talia to look elsewhere as frustration once again bloomed in her stomach.
I won’t let that happen, I just found you again, I’m not losing you now,
Raven's eyes found Talia again, her expression turning into one of surprise as she registered her words. She didn't expect her to speak so fiercely but it drew a small smile on her lips as her surprise soon melted away, leaving behind a vulnerable expression. "Gonna protect me, T?" Raven questioned, hiding her vulnerability with teasing. "That's sexy," She said in a teasing voice, her eyes focused solely on the other, watching her for a moment as if trying to see if she could see through her facade and see that she was lying, but nope. She couldn't. All she could see was sincerity and it was screwing with Raven's head, honestly. "Just don't get hurt for me," her voice was soft as she spoke, eyes settling on Talia for a moment. "Because I'm not losing you, either." Raven was positive that she'd make the town rain blood if anything happened to Talia.
I can try but no promises we’ll be able to save that for last, My shift is over so do you mind waiting while I grab my stuff and then we can get started?
Raven's lips stretched into a grin at Talia's words before she rolled her eyes in a manner that could be described as fond. "I'm not surprised." Raven added a moment later, her eyes moving to settle on her bandaged hand for a moment before nodding her head. "Mmm, sure. I'll just take a look around or somethin' " Raven shrugged her shoulders as she pushed herself up from where she was sitting to take a look around, touching a few things that she probably shouldn't touch. Her curiosity led her outside of the room where she wandered to the front desk, noticing the small bowl that had wrapped candies and stickers which made her eyes glow, clearly intrigued. She reached for a sticker which caught the attention of the woman behind the front desk, quirking an eyebrow at her which Raven quirked right back at her as she reached for a sticker next and that's when she heard a noise next to her which sounded like a cat coughing up a hairball and when she looked, it was a kid.
Oh.
Raven quirked an eyebrow at the kid, noticing that he was looking at the candy and sticker in Raven's hand. "Oh. You want these?" She offered a small smile as she unwrapped the candy and rather than giving it to the kid, she ate it and plastered the sticker onto her jacket instead before she stuck her tongue out at the kid. "You're mean! Aren't you too old for candies anyway?" The kid asked with a pout on his bottom lip which made Raven release a childish gasp at being called old. "Oh yeah? Aren't you too young for candies? Do you even have the teeth for it? Go eat your boogers or something." She stuck her tongue out again and this time, the kid did the same thing.
It was weird. It was like she was talking to a younger version of herself. It was... trippy, to say the least.
Raven rolled her eyes and walked away from that kid and made her way back to Talia, chewing on the candy in her mouth which tasted faintly of blueberries. She waited outside for Talia to finish, rocking back and forth on her heels as a way to do something with her body and pass the time.

There was a time when Talia had thought that the world was simple. She had always known that there were good and bad people out there and even though she had fallen in with a bad crowd at one point she hadn’t known that at the time and as soon as she had realised what was going on she had decided to get out of there as quickly as she could. That had almost ended up getting her killed and she had encountered her guardian angel again that day, or perhaps guardian demon would have been more accurate, and she had known that it was time to turn her life around once and for all. She hadn’t known anything about the supernatural world for a long time but she had been learning more about it ever since she had agreed to become Asariel’s host. Now she knew much more about what was really out there but she still had no idea what to think about those who were responsible for taking her and Raven. They had done something to both of them and right now Raven was being affected more than she was but Talia knew that she wouldn’t be surprised if it was only a matter of time before something within her began to change as well and she would be lying if she said that that didn’t scare her. There wasn’t anything that she could do about it, though, all she could do was try and make the best of it and she wanted to help Raven in any way that she could. “I should have guessed that would be your answer,” Talia admitted, not entirely sure why she had expected anything else from Raven. There were times when it was easy to forget that she was a demon after all of the times that she had been there to save Talia’s life and help her out but at the end of the day she was a demon and Talia wouldn’t be surprised if torturing people would always be her go to move. Something told her that wouldn’t work this time though so they were going to have to think of something else. “That’s the million dollar question. Do any of the other demons know anything? Asariel has tried asking the angels but no one has said anything yet,” she offered. She knew that Asariel wasn’t exactly popular among the other angels but she was doing her best to earn their trust back and that was all she could do. When it came to something like this she wouldn’t be surprised if others had been taken as well though so she hoped that if any of them did know something then they would say regardless of what had happened in the past. One thing she knew for sure was that she didn’t want to lose Raven now and she felt her cheeks flush red as Raven asked if she was going to protect her before saying that it was sexy. “You’ve always been there for me, it’s about time I returned the favour,” she said, hating the way that her heart started to race slightly as her eyes met Raven’s. The demon shouldn’t have this kind of effect on her but it wasn’t something that Talia could control and it was enough to confuse her more than anything else right now because she had no idea what it meant, or at least she didn’t want to admit to herself what it might mean. “You won’t lose me, between you and Asariel looking out for me I’m pretty lucky in that regard,” she said, a smile touching her lips as she looked over at Raven before reaching over and giving the demon’s hand a gentle squeeze before she could stop herself. Letting go, Talia nodded as Raven said she would have a look around and she made her way to the locker room to get changed and grab her things but more than anything to compose herself before returning. She had no idea what had changed but there was something about Raven that Talia felt connected to and it went beyond what they had been through together. That wasn’t something that Talia had felt for a long time and she wasn’t too sure what to make of it but she knew that now wasn’t the time to dwell on it too much, not while Raven was waiting for her. Closing her locker door she threw her bag over her shoulder before heading outside. “Are you ready to go?” she asked as she reached Raven and offered the demon a half smile. RAVEN

Asariel has tried asking the angels but no one has said anything yet, You’ve always been there for me, it’s about time I returned the favour, You won’t lose me, between you and Asariel looking out for me I’m pretty lucky in that regard,
Raven looked at Talia without offering anything back at first, her eyes prodding at Talia's features, trying to understand her without really saying anything for a few moments as her brows furrowed when she realized that she couldn't tell what that emotion was. Was it disappointment? Was Talia disappointed in her? Should she take it back and be a little nicer in her response, maybe? Or was it acceptance as Talia slowly but surely became accustomed to the fact that Raven was fucked up in the head due to her being a demon. Raven had absolutely no idea, and it was bothering her. "No, none of them ever said anything about this. I can't exactly ask them right now, they'd fucking kill me if they saw me like this." Raven was aware of how ruthless demons can be and if they caught wind of Raven beginning to experience human emotions, they'd torture it out of her or send her right to Hell where the demons down there would take care of that. "When has angels ever been helpful?" Raven offered with a teasing smile forming on her lips. "Anyone surprised? Show of hands?" Raven pretended to look around her for anyone raising their hands before chuckling.
Raven silently looked at Talia for a little, her lips pursing as she processed the other's words. You've always been there for me. It was a sentence that almost made the ground beneath Talia shake and giveaway. "Okay." Raven, for once, had no sarcastic remark to offer. For once, she was rendered speechless by someone, and it was such a strange feeling, but you know what? She didn't hate it. "The weirdest mixture, that's for sure. Got best of both worlds, huh?" Raven pointed out when Talia mentioned that she had both of them looking out for her. For once, demons and angels seemed to get along, and it was only so that they could protect Talia. No other reason.
Are you ready to go?
Raven stopped rocking when Talia came back. "Finaaaally." She grumbled pretty much like a petulant and impatient child. "I've been ready for ages." She teased with a grin spreading her lips. "You look cute out of your uniform. Look even cuter in it." Raven praised, the same grin still on her lips as she buried her hands in her pockets while walking. "Did I ever tell you my human name?" Raven questioned with a slight tilt of her head, her eyes settling on Talia again. "I remembered it again, not long after we left that place. It was... weird. A lot of memories came with it, things I thought were suppressed by the years of torture in Hell." Those emotions and those memories... She really thought she had suppressed them all. "Actually, does Ariel know it? I'll give you a kiss if you do, Ariel~"

Talia had been spending quite a bit of time with Raven lately even though Asariel always tried to tell her not to and there were times when she felt like she was finally starting to understand the demon but there were others where she felt like she had absolutely no idea. In a way it was infuriating but Talia had always been the kind of person who didn’t like to back down when things got tough so she knew that she wasn’t going to turn away now. Raven had been there for her and saved her life so many times and even though she hadn’t turned out to be quite who Talia had thought she was, she was a demon rather than her guardian angel, she knew that she wanted Raven to carry on being a part of her life. She was the one person who had always been there for Talia and if she was honest she was starting to feel like there was a part of her that was missing when Raven wasn’t around. It was scary and confusing to say the least since she had never felt that way about anyone before but she couldn’t help it. She didn’t understand what it meant and Asariel was absolutely no help whatsoever but she knew that she just had to trust that she would figure it out sooner or later. “They wouldn’t, would they?” Talia said, her eyes widening as Raven said the other demons would kill her if they saw her like this. She really hoped that it wasn’t true but she couldn’t be sure considering that she hadn’t met any demons other than Raven yet. “They have their moments, Asariel did save my life,” Talia said, rolling her eyes playfully at Raven’s teasing words. Talia had expected some kind of a quip or sarcastic comment from Raven but none came and that surprised her more than anything else. Instead she simply said okay and Talia really wasn’t sure what to make of it. It was only when Raven spoke again that Talia finally snapped out of it and she felt a smile form on her face. “Weirdest mixture is an understatement,” she admitted with a laugh. “I can’t say I would want it any other way though.” She and Asariel had an understanding and when it came to Raven, well, Talia still had absolutely no idea what was going on there but she couldn’t help but find herself drawn to the demon. It didn’t take her long to get changed and return and she shook her head in amusement when Raven said she had been ready for ages. “I guess I’m lucky you didn’t get bored waiting and leave me behind then,” she teased. Raven’s next comment about her uniform was something that Talia hadn’t expected at all and it was enough to make a blush colour her cheeks. This time it was her turn to be speechless so she was glad for a distraction when Raven mentioned her human name. As Raven said she would give Asariel a kiss if she knew it, Talia couldn’t help but laugh. “You don’t want to know what she said in response to that,” she grinned. “I think I do, I heard you say something after we got away,” she said, thinking back to that day. “You mentioned the name Yves, was that your name or someone you knew?” she asked, hoping that Raven would open up and tell her a little more about her memories of her life before she ended up in Hell. They wouldn’t, would they? They have their moments, Asariel did save my life
Raven met Talia's eyes when she processed her words before a half-smile tugged on the edge of her lips. "You have a really pure heart, don't you?" The way that Talia didn't think demons would be that bad as to kill her for showing the slightest hint of emotion. It was endearing, to say the least. "Sweetheart, they would torture me until I'm the one begging to be killed." Raven revealed with ease, her hands buried in the pockets of her trousers. Raven released a small hum at that when Talia defended the angels and mentioned that Ariel had saved Talia's life. "Yeah, I guess you're right about that." She released a small hum of approval before she nodded her head slowly. "One point for the angels for doing the right thing for once." Raven said with a teasing grin tugging on her lips, her posture remained relaxed and at ease as she took a quick look around her before her eyes relaxed on Talia once again.
Weirdest mixture is an understatement, I can’t say I would want it any other way though.
Talia might have just been able to prove to the world that demons and angels can get along for once and stop thinking with the anger that they felt for each other. She might have been able to make them team up to protect someone, which goes straight against any demon's nature. It was odd, wasn't it? The way that everything had played out, the way Raven's human nature was starting to show more and more, and it was all because of Talia.
I guess I’m lucky you didn’t get bored waiting and leave me behind then, You don’t want to know what she said in response to that, I think I do, I heard you say something after we got away, You mentioned the name Yves, was that your name or someone you knew?
Raven chuckled briefly at that. "Mhm. Lucky you indeed." Honestly, Raven wouldn't be able to walk away from Talia even if she wanted to. She was completely consumed by that woman. Raven's eyes softened when she realized that her words had made the woman blush. "Oh, Lucifer, you are so cute." Raven actively avoided using the word 'God' in her sentence as she praised Talia. She kept her eyes on her for a few moments, her bottom lip caught between her teeth to stop herself from kissing Talia right this instant. Raven had never been a patient person. "Ooooh, I can imagine what she said." Raven's eyes gleamed with mischief as a grin formed on her lips. It was pretty fun teasing Asariel. Her brows quirked up in surprise when Talia actually remembered her human name. "You've got a good memory, T." Raven was surprised by that, but she was also selfishly glad that Talia had gotten it right.
"My name." Raven revealed with a quick nod of her head. "I never really had a name when I was younger, it was one that I picked for myself." She added a moment later. Talking about her past left a sour taste on her tongue and she hated it. "I grew up on the streets, had to do a lot of shit just to get by. I experienced first-hand the cruelty of people." Raven's expression was unreadable as she spoke, her eyes glazed over with something as she remembered just how lonely she had been back then.
"I was taken advantage of by someone I thought I could trust. He was my first kill." There was no hint of regret in the tone of Raven's voice. "I'm pretty sure he's the reason I ended up in hell. Or maybe it's the fact that I enjoyed it." However, if you ask Raven to do the same thing today, she wouldn't be able to and that scared her the most. Raven revealed what happened next, talking about her past was painful in some aspects, but when she finished, she felt a huge weight lift off her shoulders. "Now you know everything about me. You're the first person I ever told about my past, and probably the last person." She wasn't interested in opening her heart to anyone else other than Talia.

“I don’t know about that,” Talia said as Raven said that she had a really pure heart. She never thought that she did, she had seen some of the worst people out there and seh had seen some of what they were capable of. She knew that there were always going to be those out there who wanted to hurt others and Talia knew that nothing was going to stop her from wanting to make the world a better place but she wasn’t perfect, she had made mistakes along the way herself and she had done plenty of things that she wasn’t proud of. As Raven said that the others would torture her until she was begging to be killed, Talia’s expression hardened. “I won’t let them do that to you,” she said fiercely. She wasn’t sure how she would ever stop them but just the thought of something happening to Talia was enough to make her feel sick to her stomach so she knew that she would do everything she could in order to stop that from happening. As Raven said that the angels had earned one point by saving her, Talia felt a smile touch her lips. “Asariel appreciates that,” she grinned, the angel in her head finally agreeing with Raven about something. As Raven agreed that she was lucky, Talia felt a smile touch her lips. “Well, I hope my luck continues,” she admitted. She really did care about Raven no matter how much Asariel had tried telling her that she shouldn’t. Talia had never felt a connection like this with anyone before and she knew that it was crazy considering that Raven was a demon but she couldn’t help it. Hearing Raven say she was cute was enough to make the blush colouring Talia’s cheeks to deepen and she quickly looked down at the ground. She knew that she shouldn’t be feeling this way about Raven but whenever they had moments like this she just couldn’t stop herself from wanting something more than whatever it was that was going on between them right now. She knew that it was crazy considering that they were so different but she had realised a while ago that trying to fight it was pointless so she had simply stopped trying. “I won’t repeat it,” Talia grinned as Raven said that she could imagine what Asariel had said in response to her teasing comment. As Raven said that she had a good memory, Talia shrugged. “I do when it comes to you, you’re important to me.” Those words left her lips before she could stop them but she didn’t regret them for a moment. Raven made her feel things that no one else ever had and there were times when she wondered whether Raven felt the same way about her. Talia found herself studying Raven carefully as she spoke about her life as a human and learning that she had grown up on the streets was enough to make Talia’s heart ache for her. “I had no idea you’d gone through something like that, I’m so sorry,” she said gently as she reached over and gave Raven’s hand a gentle squeeze. “For what it’s worth I like Yves, it suits you,” she added, offering Raven a smile as she spoke. She had never realised just how similar their pasts were in some respects but now it made so much more sense and she wondered if perhaps that was why Raven had taken such an interest in her to begin with. “After what he did to you, I can’t blame you for doing what you did,” she admitted. How the guy could do something like that to Raven she had no idea but it was enough to make her want to protect Raven that much more even though it was clear that Raven was more than capable of looking after herself. “Thank you for opening up to me,” she said sincerely, her eyes locked on Raven’s as she spoke. “It means more to me than you’ll ever know and I hope that talking about it has helped you as well.”RAVEN

━ relationships, they require effort ━
Raven stared at Talia for a moment, a small frown tugging at her features. It seemed like Talia didn't believe that she had a pure heart and Raven wasn't sure whether that was sad or not. She didn't comment on it, though. She let the comment be brushed away into the wind. Raven had seen many horrors in her life and had inflicted worse but here Talia was, offering to protect her against all harm with such determination that it made her wonder what it would have been like to hear her say that back when she was just a mere human. Would that have been enough for her to want to redeem herself? Would that have given her a bigger reason to fight? Maybe. Raven was aware that it was beyond foolish to think of these things because there was simply no point in changing the past when she was already dealing with the consequences of her past actions. Damn Talia and her gravitational pull that brought Raven back to her no matter how much distance she would place between the two of them. She'd always find her way back to her. The only person who seemed to carry the remaining bits of her humanity, something that was supposedly long gone. Raven was confident that if the other demons were to know that she was experiencing human emotions, they would want to get rid of her as she was simply just a flaw in the system. "My knight in shining armor." Raven offered back, offering a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes as she finally escaped her thoughts before they could consume her whole. A scoff soon followed as she heard Talia's next words. "Of course she does,"
Raven, as much as she wanted to stay with Talia, knew that she was no good to her and from Talia's words, it was becoming clear to her that Talia didn't want to leave her side which was so strange to the demon who always felt like it was the easiest thing in the damn world to leave her behind. Her parents had done it, didn't they? So many people in her human life had abandoned her and left her to deal with the consequences of their departure but for some reason, Talia was determined to stay despite the fact that she was her polar opposite. Raven's tongue rushed over the surface of her bottom lip as she found herself sinking into her own thoughts yet again. "What I actually am, is a danger to you, Talia." Raven commented, her eyes relaxing on Talia once again as she allowed a moment to stretch between them. "It doesn't matter if I'm starting to feel these things because I'm still a demon and there's an angel ridin' shotgun with you. I think this is a conversation that we need to have."
Raven shook her head briefly when Talia apologized to her on behalf of the world that seemed determined to wear her down until she was nothing but ashes. "It's not your fault. It doesn't bother me anymore. Hasn't bothered me in such a long time." Her lack of emotions in the past definitely played a big part with that but now that she had half of her emotions back, it made her feel angry. She just wanted to live. It blew her mind how she wasn't even allowed to have that and she was punished for trying to survive in such a power hungry world. Fairness at its finest, huh?
"It did suit me." Raven said with a half-smile tugging at the corner of her lips. She wasn't sure if she'd ever use that name again, not when her new name had become her new identity, it had become a tool that she used to cut her tethers from her human self.
"Apparently taking a life is still a big no-no, no matter the circumstances." Raven scoffed bitterly as she tipped her head back slightly. She lifted one hand to scratch the side of her neck before she gently brushed her hair off her shoulder.
Raven's eyes shifted back to Talia, her words making something flutter in her chest, it was an emotion she'd never experienced before and she wanted to crush it before it could fester and grow. She had to. "You have a strange effect on me, Talia. I'm not sure how to feel about it. About you." Raven stopped walking as she turned to face Talia properly.
"That talk I mentioned before, let's have it now, I don't wanna dance around it much longer." Raven sucked her teeth for a moment before she parted her lips. "I'm not a good person, Talia. If the red in my ledger from my past doesn't scare you, then you should consider the red that I have now. I've killed, tortured, and I've inflicted the worst pain imaginable on people. Both innocent and guilty, I didn't differentiate. In a way, I wanted to act like the Man above. If he can't differentiate between the good actions I've done and the bad, then I shall punish the same way and I enjoyed every last bit of it. I felt like I was becoming a superior version of myself and it felt good, T. It felt really fucking good." Raven could remember every last action she had committed in the past. She could recall every victim's name with such ease even though her list was pretty damn long.
"My point is, I'm worse than the demons in your past, but you still treat me so gently, you're still so nice to me and I don't get it. I may have these weird emotions now, but it still doesn't change the fact that I'm still a demon." To prove a point, her eyes flashed black before they returned into their normal color. "I can't be a gentle partner, I can't... be normal, but fuck, I still want you. I still want to be with you." Raven felt like she was running in lapses and wasn't making much sense but she hoped that Talia could understand her.
"I need you to know what you're getting yourself into. I'm giving you a way out now so you don't regret it later, because like I said, I want you, T. I don't know if this emotion I'm feeling is love, or attraction, or something else, I don't know, I haven't felt anything in such a long time that I don't know what each one feels like." Raven took a small step back regardless of the implications of her words. "I'm giving you a way out now. Walk away from me if you know what's good for you because I'm a selfish person and if you come to me, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to let go of you. So leave, T. Pick the right partner for once and leave."
