Mystic Falls was meant to be a fresh start for Evangeline and so far it was certainly proving to be that. She hadn’t known quite what she would find when she got to the town but she had known that it didn’t really matter. For years she had been waiting for the Mikaelsons to leave New Orleans since she had been compelled not to return there for a hundred years and after finding all of the dark objects she needed she had been trying to track down the family so that she could free Kol from his coffin once and for all. She knew that she was never going to agree with the way that his family treated him, the truth was that he deserved so much better than that but they had the advantage over her that they were able to compel her and she wasn’t able to resist it so she’d been forced to play their game for a while. As it happened Kol had already been freed from his coffin by his younger brother Henrik, the one that had died over a thousand years ago before he and his family became vampires, and as far as she was concerned all that mattered was that he had been freed, it didn’t matter that it hadn’t been her who had done so. For the first time in years Evangeline had her best friend back and the one person who remembered what she was like before she became a vampire. Evangeline had wanted the chance to start over again and Mystic Falls definitely gave her that. She knew that she wanted to do something with her life that would give her the chance to help those around her the way that she once had back when she was a princess in Greece but the truth was that at the moment she wasn’t entirely sure what that was going to be. In the meantime she had bought the Grill from the guy that had owned it who had been eager to get out of Mystic Falls and so far she was enjoying the challenge of running the place. It wasn’t quite what she would have seen herself doing but at the end of the day it kept her busy and gave her something to do and she knew that that wasn’t a bad thing. That day she needed to go through the books and sort a few things out but Evangeline wasn’t the kind of person to hide out in the back office and keep out of the way of everyone. She preferred being out around people as in a way it reminded her of when she was growing up in Greece so instead she sat at an empty table in the Grill with a glass of wine sat on the table next to her and papers spread out over the table as she worked.
