Lucifer:
It hadn't been long since Lucifer had inhabited Sam. It had taken awhile to get the Winchester to agree but in truth it wasn't needed. He didn't need Sam's approval for him to take control but he wanted it. What the Winchester had feared was true, when Sam had said yes orinonally a door was opened and it was still open. It wasn't as if Lucifer had been kicked out of his true vessel they had entered the cage and were forced apart. Then his pesky brother had taken Sam's physical form but left part behind. Lucifer had made do with Sam's soul but even that was taken from him by Death. Lucifer was left with nothing in the cage but Micheal and Adam Winchester, they were no fun. They broke easily and then there was nothing left. Until like Sam there was no real fight, they gave in and broke and the fun was gone. Sam Winchester, his true vessel, had played hard to get but Lucifer had been triumphant and even in the cage there was pride in knowing that even though the four of them were in the cage, he had still won. He had broken Sam Winchester, then he was taken too. Lucifer then was left with the broken toys and an eternity or boredom. Lucifer had thought that he had finally lost when he was alone in the cage but then his son came back. Azazel had managed to be brought back from the Empty and there was hope again. Lucifer waited patiently for his favoured son to free him once more. It may take awhile but he had faith in Azazel of all demons. Then the time had come. He had been freed and made the Winchester say 'yes' again. Oh it felt so good to get the Winchester to let him in but it wasn't needed but it was just for Lucifer's satisfaction. He managed to get the younger Winchester to say yes, not once but twice. Lucifer finally was free to take over Heaven and get revenge. First he had to see his faithful son. Lucifer went to the throne room of Hell and awaited the old 'king' to appear. When he appeared he turned to look at him. "Ah, Azazel. There you are. We won." They might’ve won, the cage might have sprung open but, really, there’d only been one sensible course of action had to get out of there. Azazel knew that the Winchesters might’ve considered it running but it was sensible. They couldn’t touch Lucifer, especially not once he was in Sammy boy, but the messenger? He was a target they’d gone after before and while they were pissed about the way they had all been played it was wise not to be around them.
Returning to Mystic Falls Lucifer had crowed to his loyal people of his success, promising that it was just a matter of time before Lucifer would be walking amongst them again. The last shackles holding him in the darkest depths of hell were broken. Their King had returned, even if it was in the body of one who would have seen him destroyed if given the chance.
For days Azazel had remained above ground, watching the Winchesters and their ilk running around, trying to pick up the pieces. They’d convinced a warlock to work with them, one of the only Mikaelsons to still have their power. He’d apparently brought most of those who had been killed by Sam back to life, fulfilling the bargain that he’d made with his rebellious son to make certain that all of his kids would be brought back safe and sound, Ben included. The latter hadn’t been necessary of course, apparently Sam hadn’t gotten that far before Dean and his entourage had arrived to break things up. He’d never said he’d be the one to personally bring them back after all. As long as the terms and conditions of their little contract had been met, it was all above board.
By now Sammy was probably too cracked and broken in the corner of his mouth that he was allowed to argue too much over semantics. Breathing in the scent of Hell Azazel let out a sigh. The semantics never mattered much down here, the only thing that did was the end result and that had been what he’d been seeking to do for Millennia. Lucifer was back and on the throne. He had kept the promise he’d made to his father long before and he’d done it without razing the town to the ground yet. That joy would be Lucifer’s, the destruction of all of those who had stood against them left for the hands of the one who had been confined for too long.
Azazel’s eyes glowed gold as he appeared in the throne room, his smile beaming. In front of the throne Azazel sank to one knee and bent his head, like a night of old. ”Father,” he breathed before he lifted his head to take in the lanky form in front of him. ”It was only ever a matter of time. This time the witch made certain there would be nothing standing in the way of our victory. I take it your accommodations are comfortable enough?” By that he meant the hunter who had foolishly handed over the reins in the belief that his family would be kept safe. The only way Sam Winchester could’ve assured that was to have taken himself out of the equation entirely, not walk right back into the middle of it. In allowing Lilith to twist him around her finger, in giving in to the desperate thirst that had raged in him Sam had hastened his own end and almost guaranteed the destruction of his family.

Lucifer:
Lucifer turned to face his most loyal son. He walked closer and placed a finger under his son's chin as he lifted it to look at him. "Stand. The formalities are not needed, we are alone." Lucifer stretched inside his new body. "oh it's good to have a body again." He made Sam's neck click as well as a few other bones. He had began to doubt that he would ever be free with The Winchesters getting Sam back in the past. It wasn't until Azazel was brought back that he believed that he could be brought back to the board. Oh the freedom was exhilarating. He never thought he could go topside again or even be walking in Hell but here he was about to take his throne, before taking to Heaven and taking that too. "I had begin to worry that Sam Winchester would be a fossil before I was freed again." He paused for a second. "The next item to secure my Resurrection is destroying that bloody cage, before the Winchesters or my father throw me back in." He did doubt that the hunters would throw him back in especially as he was in poor old Sammy, however, he doubted his father would care, if he decided to get involved that was. Lucifer had always enjoyed the irony of Sam being his true vessel considering except Mary, he was the only Winchester or Campbell to believe in the divine and yet the human was linked to Hell rather than Heaven as he had hoped. The irony was what showed the devil that God hadn't ever really cared about anything but himself. Lucifer looked down to his feet and back up again before rubbing his hands down his new vessels chest. "Sammy does make adequate accommodation after I stopped him fighting by placing him in a dark deep corner of his mind." He paused and a smile that screamed 'not Sam' passed his lips. "You should see what things scare the little old hunter and what he thinks is paradise and peace." He let out a laugh. "I tried the fear factor to start with but he fought me too much. Now he is content, fighting alongside Jess, Dean, Mary, Bobby and his band of brothers, to keep the world to rights." "I need to speak to this witch and reward her appropriately. She sealed the deal for Heavens destruction. Can you arrange this?" In truth Lucifer wanted to take down his father rater than his brethren but he had to start somewhere and for that he needed the witch. As much as he enjoyed parading in Sammy, he would need more permanent residence. He had just the person but he would enjoy Sammy when he could. After all he had won, with the help of Azazel and Lilith. In truth Lucifer was worried that when he came across Dean, Sam would fight back. Even when Sam was in a corner of his mind he had access to what Lucifer was doing with his body, if he fought hard enough. The angel was concerned that as soon as Sam's eyes laid on Dean that no matter how deep he was he would crawl back over time. He needed a new vessel before that happened. He wasn't strong enough yet to have complete control so that meant killing the Brady Bunch was off limits, even coming face to face with them could blow everything. He would lay low until he had more control over the Winchester. Lucifer wanted to be ten steps ahead of the knuckleheaded hunters and be prepared and Nick would play a major role in that. Especially, as Lucifer had a vessel at the moment. It was only a matter of time. Tag: AZAZEL Notes: sorry for the wait Words: 650

All of those centuries to reach this point. To see with his own eyes Lucifer walking the earth again. The first time he had been adrift, stranded in the darkness of the Empty while his surrogates pushed the Winchesters into setting those tumblers falling. Unaware he hadn’t felt that bolt of satisfaction rip through the pit of his stomach, hadn’t lifted his eyes and seen Lucifer lurking behind those wide green eyes of Sammy Boy’s.
Azazel slowly eased his way to his feet, more gracefully than any human would’ve expected of his worn old meatsuit. Lips curved, those yellow eyes glowing now as he took in the tall form before him. ”I’m only sorry that it took so long. The Winchesters have proven frustratingly resilient over the years.” In the end though the same sort of bargain that had damned young Sam to his demon blood midnight snack when his father’s life had been on the line had been struck again. Sammy for Ben surviving what happened in Hell, in return for bringing the others back. He’d never sworn it would happen with his own hands of course, just that it would happen and it had. Every single one of them up there in Mystic Falls, strolling around as though what had happened outside of the cage was just a bad dream.
No. They had it all wrong, it was just the start of one.
Laughing rolled low from Azazel as he slipped his hands into the pockets of his jeans, rocking back on his heels. Not a laughing matter, the time it had taken for the plan to come together far too long, but the sound croaked out anyway. ”He might’ve been if we hadn’t managed to burn the bridges between him and his brother. You might’ve had to make do with young Ben instead.” Yellow eyes squinted faintly, drifting down to the ground they stood on. ”The witch may be able to help there. She may not look like much but there’s power in that scrawny little body and she’s proven quite biddable. Unlike her son.” While they’d been fighting to open the cage Crowley had scurried away, finding a rock that his loyal little demons hadn’t managed to locate yet.
That was only a matter of time though. Soon Lucifer would have all that his heart desired. Azazel watched as Lucifer appeared to test the bounds of his new form, clucking his tongue as he said that he’d stopped Sam fighting by putting him in a dark corner of his mind. He knew he was dancing on a thin line here but he shook his head. ”I wouldn’t trust Sam even there. No matter how pretty the cell, they always rebel in the end.” Azazel tilted his head, sharp interest in his eyes. ”You’ve led him to believe they’re all alive?” It would certainly keep Sammy blissed out the longest. There was the matter of his father though. John was back above the ground now, a loyal little servant as long as he got to remain with his family. ”I think the witch would be happy to bow before the master she helped free,” he said with a nod. ”What sort of reward are you thinking, father?” Whatever it was, it was likely more than Rowena deserved. He wasn’t about to question Lucifer’s decision though, he wasn’t that foolish.

Lucifer:
"No need to apologise, my boy." Lucifer shook his head. "The thrill of the inevitable finally clicking into place, making Sammy submit, again, oh. It's better than anything I have ever felt." His eyes flashed red for a brief second before phasing out. "Honestly, winning over the Winchesters not once but twice feels even better the second time." He could feel his power wean as his eyes flashed back to Sammy's green. He growled with frustration due to not being at complete power. He hadn't wanted anyone to notice his lack of power, not even Azazel. "Find me that dammed witch!"The devil shook his head. "I would have just used Ben as a stop gap. I would have brought him back continually until Sammy agreed again." Lucifer nodded as Rowena was mentioned. She had to have power for them to get this far. The angel could already tell that the witch was promising and she was already on side at least for now. "As you've probably noticed Sam has been fighting me. Somehow his resistance is stopping me being a hundred percent. Last time he accepted willing thinking his will would best me, this time his will and stubbornness is besting me even if he doesn't know it." He shook his head. "I know he will. I need the witch to bind me to him so I can't be rejected at least until I am ready." Lucifer nodded. "He knew they were alive before we won. Deep down his subconscious would always fight back if they were all dead. He would look to make a deal with anything that listened and when no deal came he would know something was up. Keeping it close to the truth eliminates some resistance for awhile." Or so he hoped. There was no telling how long Lucifer would be in control. It could be seconds or days and it could be the same for the human. There had to be some reassurance that no matter how long the hunter did take over, Lucifer would always come back without being sent to the cage or some other horror. "Good-" He struggled to get the word out as he felt Sam fighting back. For a second his featured softened to become Sam. It took Lucifer most of his power to ensure that Sam had no control over his body other than appearing albeit briefly. The Archangel took control again and regained full control. His face hardened, rage evident on his face. "THIS is why I choose Hell for our meeting!"

Sammy always had been the easiest nut to crack amongst the Winchesters. It may have been the little bit of Hell simmering in his blood or the fact that he hadn’t been aware of his mother’s fight against everything Hell wanted to do to her boys, either way, Sammy had been their way in from the very beginning. A low chuckle rolled from Azazel as his father admitted that Sammy was slowly submitting, much to his joy. His teeth flashed in a feral smile. ”It’s honestly about time. I missed the joy the go around.” The witch had decided to change in this time but even Rowena had her limits. She’d managed to pull him out of the Empty to backstab her throne grabbing son, she’d done the same to retrieve others for him but what she could do for Lucifer was still to be seen. His own return had been achieved by the slaughter of the children. ”Now?” he asked, teeth gritting. Knowing Rowena she would be hiding beneath a rock about now.
Just like her son.
Crowley should’ve been here to welcome their father home. Lucifer’s freedom had never been his aim however. Power had. His ass on the throne, letting Hell literally go to hell. If the Winchesters hadn’t gotten lucky with that bullet Crowley would still have been a soul grubbing salesman and Ben … he would’ve been his uncle’s right hand. There was no chance for that now though, Ben had known what was happening down at the cage and he had fought. He would have done the same even with Lucifer occupying his body. The worn denim of the jeans he wore creaked as he put pressure on the pockets. ”Lucky for us Sammy agreed without the fight. The boy was a big enough problem in getting you free as it was.” Without Ben the ritual would’ve been over far faster. Huffing out a breath, Azazel shook his head. ”He knows too much this time. He fought harder down at the cell, tried to wring promises out of me.” It hadn’t worked though. If there was ever a creature to strike a binding deal with it wasn’t a demon. They always made sure of loopholes and he as an expert at creating them.
There were few things to truly lock Sammy away in his own mind and body though. Demons weren’t like angels, they didn’t have to ask permission to take up residence but their father wasn’t a demon, not like they were. Permission had to be wrung out of his host one way or another. Nick had given that permission willingly but Sammy … Sammy had only caved at the end. Azazel made a sound low in his throat, gesturing with one hand. ”That much should be easy for the witch at least but I would be wary of her. She has a hatred for her son but an over developed sense of self-preservation. The first sign of trouble and she will abandon us.” Advantage was something Rowena had always seemed to seek out. The same as her son. Now, the Winchesters, they always looked for the weak spot, a way to fight back and the moment Lucifer’s voice stuttered out Azazel was turning, approaching his father slowly. ”Sammy, Sammy, Sammy,” he breathed. ”I would not fight if I were you. Give in, just enjoy the ride.” This, Azazel thought as his father raged, was why Lucifer hadn’t allowed others to see him in this form. He would not want to risk Sammy getting free or revealing to others that Lucifer wasn’t at full strength. ”I’ll look for the witch,” he promised, taking a half step back. ”Have other vessels been searched for yet?” AKA had their people managed to track down Nick.

Lucifer:
The first time around there wasn't much joy to be had. He had won against humanity and his father last time but it was short lived. As he was about to finally fight his brother and either win or convert him, Dean had got involved. If only Micheal had inhabited Dean instead of Adam then there may have been more luck in a victor. However, nobody would know how it would have turned out. Dean and Sam would have been reluctant to kill each other and they would never have dreamed about throwing themselves and their brother into Hell. They were an inseparable team, it was as if they were joined at the hip and inseparable. It was only dear ol' Sammy boy's demon blood that had driven a wedge between them. Every other attempt to break them had only brought them closer together but there was something about the demon blood that repulsed Dean and that was what Hell had played on. " This time is better. I do not have to kill my brother to secure both Heave and Hell. Sam has dealt with Micheal for me, now its just the stubborn rulers that need 'persuading'." Lucifer's brows furrowed. "No, not now in a hundred years. Of course NOW!" Surely someone of such importance would have been under constant surveillance but apparently not. Lucifer hoped that she was in fact on their side and not hiding away with the resistance. Sammy may not have fought but if he wasn't so broken up along with the fact that Lucifer knew the boy inside and out there would have been a fight and that was why there was a fight at the current moment. If Sam had been his old self and close to Dean without the pull of the demon blood then there would have been a fight for the ages. If the Winchester bros had been reunited and close, Ben included then the fight may have even beaten Lucifer's fight with Micheal. "Well, I may have had something to do with there not being much of a fight." He scoffed. " He killed the kids without much pushing but when he was in the cage it was a different matter." Lucifer knew that if he hadn't taken his anger out of the Winchester when the others had broken then it may not have been so bad but the youngest Winchester and Archangel were so similar that it was a problem. Lucifer drew in a deep breath. "I know. He has grown stronger since the last time I was here. He managed to expel Gadreel and and with him over the mutual hatred for me." He shook his head and scoffed. "What the boy doesn't know is that we are more alike that he would ever like to believe." He looked to his loyal son. "They may know more but so do we. Information was shared on both sides. That my boy is why we need to get the witch to sort this out. The longer I control the Winchester the more chance he has of learning information out about us. IF, he becomes aware that I am here." He growled. He had trust issues and didn't want anyone knowing his weaknesses, especially Samuel Winchester. "He wanted me in to take all the blame for what he had done recently. He knows it was all him but we need to tread carefully." Lucifer nodded. An over developed sense of self-preservation would work in their favour. They could use that against her by threatening her and showing her who was boss in the first meeting if Sammy behaved that was. "The witch I can deal with. Don't you worry about her."If the Winchester tried anything again then Lucifer would make his life a lot harder. If the human pushed Lucifer would push back. "Great, Sammy is aware. I need that witch. If he learns the whole Winchester gang are alive then we will be one stop down." The hunters knew how to trap archangels and Sam had the tools to stop him so they had to make it sure that it wouldn't be possible. He would not be stopped again, Micheal was out of the way now it was only a matter of time before he took Heaven and the human would not get in the way. "We have a track on Nick. We just need a witch and time. She can get a hold of the rest."

Azazel’s smile turned into a proud sneer as Lucifer frowned at him. The Winchesters had been their own undoing, all those pieces they’d put into place to make sure that Lucifer went back in the cage the first time preventing them from doing anything this time around. Poor Adam and Michael were still out of the game. That left the board wide open. ”Hannah,” he told his father, his smile taking on a feral edge. ”Not even Castiel stepped up this time. It’s an angel named Hannah in charge now.” He didn’t have a bead on her, not yet, but others he had kept an eye on … including the witch. Azazel’s head dropped as his father yelled now, one hand coming up in supplication. ”I’ll track her down for you,” he promised. Maybe this was when the witch would get her just desserts, not in the way she had obviously believed she would. Lucifer didn’t suffer fools or the greedy lightly and he believed that the witch was both.
Perhaps she’d come ot the point where her usefulness was at an end anyway. She’d brought him back Meg, Lilith too before she’d scurried off, Alastair … what more could he honestly have asked for. Without the witch’s help they wouldn’t have been here but the longer she was around for the more chance she had of stabbing them in the back. Just like the longer Lucifer went on without taking total control the more chance Sammy had of breaking free. Azazel let out a sound in his throat, his yellow eyes trying to seek something out in his father’s face, some sign of Sammy himself. ”He thought he had the perfect deal to save them afterwards,” he said by way of explanation for how quickly Sam had chosen to kill. Clucking his tongue, Azazel shrugged his shoulders. ”He will never admit to that, the very idea would turn his stomach. Little Sammy Winchester and Lucifer himself on a par … unthinkable.” Lucifer was right though, if Sam would only look close enough.
Continuing to shake his head, Azazel let out a long breath. He took to pacing, his hands thrust deep in the pockets of his meat suit’s jeans. How much chance did Rowena have of suppressing Sammy entirely? She’d managed to pull multiple demons from the empty but this felt like the sort of step Heaven would not allow. ”So we tip-toe around him until the witch slaps him down?” No, that didn’t sit well with him. At some point they had to anticipate that Sammy was going to break free in one way or another and try to reach out to his brother. ”I’ll have the witch here tomorrow if possible. If there’s anybody who can do this, it’ll be her.” If, it was a big word now. The well of Rowena’s power would certainly run dry at some point.
It just couldn’t be now. Azazel clucked his tongue, laughing lightly at him. ”He knew the first time, it didn’t seem to matter much. Sammy boy wanted to protect them all.” It had been why it was so easy to isolate Sam. He’d been on the run from his brother, his nephew, his own parents, ready to lay his life on the line to protect theirs. Azazel turned towards his father, stepping closer. ”Do I need to send someone to bring Nick here? I have people to fetch him, to watch over him. It’ll give them something to do instead of sitting down here twiddling their thumbs while I ferret out the witch.” Some were still in search of Crowley. Perhaps that should’ve been where they started looking for Rowena. With her boy, not that there seemed to be any love lost there.

Lucifer:
Lucifer couldn't help but let out a sneer as he was informed that Hannah ruled Hell. When he had fallen, Hannah had been an angel that was just an ant and hardly anything, but that was millennia ago. "You mean to tell me that little bottom feeder made it to the top?" Heaven must have been truly desperate or because of her loyalty to the big man, made her a worthy contender. That meant there would be no winning over the ruler. Hell's army would have to make it to Heaven's gates and take place by force, so, the easy option wouldn't be feasible. That just meant more fun for Hell. Lucifer, however, did want there to be some Heaven when he took over. What would be the point in winning if there was nothing to rule? "Bring her to me as soon as possible." The longer time went on, the more blind spots they would miss. Lucifer had Heaven to beat he didn't want the Winchesters to get in the way again. "Don't they all?" The difference between the Winchesters and the majority of humanity was the fact they made deals for family instead of themselves. They didn't want fame, money or wealth, they wanted a family, and their undying loyalty would always be the weakness exploited by Hell. In honesty, Lucifer didn't want to admit that he was like Sam's mirror image. Family maybe Sam's weakness, but it was also Lucifer's. The angel didn't want to rule Heaven by slaughtering his brothers and sisters; he just wanted angels to be superior and to be treated like it. Heaven was there before humans, before Hell, and it would be standing after they were long gone too. He just wanted his siblings to see it his way. "The thing is he knows it. He always has. From the second, he found out about the demon blood in him he knew. He knew he was destined for Hell, but he won't even admit it to himself let alone his brother."He shook his head. "No, we don't tiptoe around him. We don't slap him down. We lock me in. The Winchester Gang cant throw me out if we hold the lock and the key." The sooner the witch could seal him in Sammy until Nick could hold him long term. Nick didn't have the hope, or family-like Sam had, Nick wanted Lucifer in to be strong. The angel had heard his prayers even in the pit, but he couldn't act on them, now they could. Azazel had a point. "You bring Nick and the witch, and I'll do what I can to keep the human at bay." He felt useless until he had fail-safes, but for now, he had to sit tight and keep the pesky Winchester at bay.

His own reaction when he came to learn that Crowley had slithered his way on to the thrown had been sneering. Laughter rumbling through Hell loud enough to make the walls shake. Crowley had always been a bottom feeder, scrabbling around for souls – successfully perhaps but still scrabbling. Heaven’s ruler on the other hand … he wouldn’t have accused Hannah of the same thing. He’d not had much to do with her over the millennia though. She was one face amongst the endless hoard of angels. Azazel snorted, spread his hands as he sneered right back. ”From what I heard Metatron didn’t leave any of them much choice.” Making a sound like an aeroplane Azazel zoomed his hand out of the air and swooped it down towards the ground with a crashing noise. ”There weren’t many left and those that were didn’t want the big seat. Can’t blame them.” His smile twitched higher at the thought. The same might’ve been said for Hell. It wasn’t narcissistic to believe there’d been a vacuum of power after he’d been killed, it had allowed Crowley to slip into his spot.
And drive Hell into the ground.
Azazel hissed faintly through his teeth. It had to be bad if his own mother was willing to bring back the former King of Hell to eject her son from the seat. From what he’d heard there’d never been any love lost between the witch and her boy but this was a good step beyond that. He touched his hand to his chest, his head dipping in promise. ”I will. I don’t think there’ll be much resistance from her.” On the other hand anybody else involved in this scheme would balk at the idea of being in the presence of Lucifer again. The one who could wipe them all out without a deal or a moment’s thought. Huffing out a breath, Azazel let a smile creep back. ”They never learn,” he drawled. They never thought that there was a way Hell could squirm out of a deal but they’d had thousands of years to perfect that little trick. The Winchesters had a couple of decades, that was all. Taking slow steps towards Lucifer, Azazel looked up, staring into Sam’s green eyes as he sneered. Inside there the hunter had to have been pissed. ”It was always gonna come to this Sam,” he confirmed. ”You had no chance. Your dad, Dean, they’ve both here before, they will be again. The three of you can hold hands and sing Kumbaya then. They’ll see what you were always gonna become.” Even then Dean would probably try and find a way out of it for his little brother. He’d scrabble around, try and offer himself in his brother’s place again, John doing the same for his son. It would do them even less good this time than it had the last time. This time their script wouldn’t be changed at the last moment.
A hum rumbled in Azazel’s throat as Lucifer shook his head at his question. Just locking him in didn’t seem enough. Sure, Sam wouldn’t be able to kick him out but it didn’t mean Sam couldn’t gather information and prepare to pass that back to Team Winchester the moment they had Lucifer transferred from him. He didn’t trust it but he also wouldn’t go against his father. One greying brow arched. ”The witch can do that,” he merely confirmed. He could fetch Rowena with a little work … Nick on the other hand. Azazel froze then, his expression growing brittle as he looked up at Lucifer. ”We haven’t yet tracked Nick down…” he admitted, fully expecting to pay the cost for that ineptitude. ”I have people looking for him too but so far, there’s been no luck. We will get him though.” Some part of him wondered if the Winchesters had anything to do with that. Had they hidden Nick away knowing that it would come to this in the end?

Lucifer:
Lucifer was relieved that his son would get Rowena. He knew if he tried Rowena may bring Sam out or try to kill him due to Sam and Rowena's relationship. If Azazel did the task, it was possible that Sammy may stay at bay. Azazel was right. The Winchester never learns, and that was why they would eventually end up in Hell. Lucifer could feel Sam's anger and resistance, the wrath was what made it harder to fight the human. If Sam had hope, he would fight for what he believed in no matter what, and that was family and the greater world. The last thing the archangel needed was Sam fighting more. When Azazel spoke to Sam directly, the anger grew. The human still hated Azazel, possibly more than Lucifer and now the demon was talking to Sam Lucifer could feel the spark of the Winchester again. "Azazel, enough!" Lucifer scowled. "Don't speak directly to him. He despises you and you of all people talking to him, winding him up, antagonising him makes him stronger. We don't need that, now." Anger was a fuel for both the Winchester and the angel. He had been under the impression that soon, Nick would be ready, that his body was being prepared and worked upon as they spoke. Yet, the truth was that they hadn't even found him? They were ten steps behind what Lucifer had thought. He planned that if Nick was almost ready, he could lock himself in Sam and wait it out and now it turned out that they hadn't even found his next vessel. "Excuse you?" He blurted out. "You are telling me that we don't even have a location on him?" Lucifer grabbed Azazel by the neck. "You're telling me that Nick is nowhere near ready? I need him altered and ready before Sam breaks free and goes home." It would only be a matter of time before his host fought enough to get out and he wanted to be safe that NIck would be ready to hold him when that time comes. "You're telling me that Sam is getting stronger and we are ten steps behind them, again! The Winchesters are ahead of us again! I NEED NICK READY. FIND HIM!" Lucifer let go of the demon. This would only empower Sam, and he didn't need that, when he wasn't at full strength yet.

| I see the bad moon arising I hear the voice of rage and ruin |
Sammy Boy was in there somewhere. Azazel’s lips peeled back from his teeth, his smirk bright as he waited to see if Sam would float up to the surface like he was trapped in one of those Magic-8 ball things. Yellow eyes studied green, looking for a twitch, for some sign that his blows were landing. They had to be. The biggest soft spot the Winchesters had ever had was each other. Oh, daddy could get a rise out of them but each other? The softest of soft spots and agony if probed in the wrong … oh hell, the right way. Azazel took another step, chuckling low as he finally saw something. Sammy might’ve been restrained, held back by Lucifer’s sheer will and whatever Rowena had managed to do to him but he wasn’t down and out, not yet.
A snort rolled through Azazel as Lucifer barked at him. He heeded his father’s scowled warningand took a step back, his hands rising almost in a sign of defeat that they both knew didn’t carry an ounce of regret to it. ”I was just giving him a little update,” he promised, like that was any sort of mea culpa. Sammy would see what was going on soon enough, through the eyes of the fallen angel who had taken over his body. ”Once the witch really gets her hands on him there won’t be anymore worries about him growing strong enough to expel you again. He won’t have a hope of doing anything but hiding in there whimpering.” A kicked puppy at the mercy of Hell. It was all Sam Winchester was ever destined to be thanks to the little deal his mom had made long before he was born. Scratch that, the Winchesters part in all of this had been fixed long before Mary Campbell had even been a twinkle in her own father’s eye.
It was inevitable and even the Winchesters couldn’t fight inevitability.
Azazel raised greying brows, an almost bland expression on his face for a moment before Lucifer’s hand fixed around his neck. He growled then, a hand coming up to grip at Sam’s meaty forearm, trying to tear his father free. It wasn’t like they’d been sitting around twiddling their thumbs while he’d worked on how to get Lucifer out of the cage. ”We’re close,” he growled. Blunt nails biting into Sam’s arm as he tried to rip himself free. ”Did you believe that they wouldn’t do something to hide him from us the moment they realised Rowena had brought me back. They’re not dumb.” They couldn’t hide Nick forever though. Soon they were find him and prepare him again. Work on his mind until he cracked and allowed Lucifer back in. ”Then make the witch work harder,” Azazel ground out hoarsely between his teeth. He dropped to his hands and knees, wheezing faintly as he hit the ground. Yellow eyes glowed up at his father as he glowered at him. Somewhere in there Sam was probably stirring Lucifer’s doubts, all it took was a little muddying of the waters and his father was no longer as certain of their victory. ”They’re not,” he spat. ”I’ll look for him myself. I’ll drag him back here and you will have your new vessel. Until then you need to continue to fight father.” Not that Lucifer needed to hear that. What they needed was a victory of some sorts – Nick, the witch locking Sam away … even Dean Winchester’s head on a pike, anything to break the other side.

Lucifer:
Azazel could poke the Beast or Sammy as soon as he was free from him until Lucifer hated losing control. A Winchester in control while in possession of an archangel would be disastrous for Hell. Lucifer always wanted to have full control over any situation ever since the Mark of Cain had been given to him the angel's envy, paranoia and uncertainty had been multiplied. Beforehand Lucifer had been Heaven's favourite, and he was out first for everything, even above Micheal. Yet, after God had placed the mark upon him trusting him to be able to contain the power and overcome it, he had failed, and anything less than complete success would be a failure in the Devil's eyes. Failures were not tolerated. Failure was what landed him in the cage in the first place. He wouldn't fail again. "The human can hear and see everything I see and hear. Right now, we do not need his riled." Lucifer would not lose control of the vessel and in turn loose control of the fight. Sam Winchester had an archangel blade upon his possession, and one slip up could mean death for himself but also Hell's attempts of ever ruling Heaven. The Devil still had faith in Azazel, but he didn't want Sam raising his head again with so much on the line. Hell, if they had that fucking blade, Lucifer may have let Azazel have some fun with the human but now was not the time. Lucifer growled before placing his hands into his pockets. "I thought they would be too flustered dealing with trying to kill you and dealing with Daddy dearest that they wouldn't be smart enough to think that far ahead." The growl turned into a grin as he considered how much Sam's last trip to Hell messed with his psyche. Oh, how the human must have been a complete mess when Death reinstated his soul, if only he had been there to see the damage he caused. "I mean I do like what privileges I get using Sam, I can get into hunter's hideouts, talk to angels and have some protection against the Scooby Gang and their attempts to stop us. But, Nick is easier to control and doesn't have ways to stop us."The Archangel looked down to his son and placed a hand under his chin to guide him to his feet. "I will leave the Winchester in such a state that not even God himself will be able to fix him." The idea of when he did leave Sam the information he would have, the details of where they stayed, the plans they had made would all be in the enemies hands, and he couldn't have that. "The bastard has an archangel blade, and before we release him, we need to find it." He had kept the information to himself for so long not because he was scared of Azazel standing against him, but he wanted as little people as possible to know about it. "The others do not know he stole it. It was all part of his plan when he said 'yes'. Sam had planned to end both himself and me with one last hurrah. To bow out like the hero he so desperately hopes to be." All the human had wanted to do was to die a martyr and a human saving his brother and the world from Hel lone last time. "That is why he is still so strong. He has one upon us, and I can't break the cockroach to find where he stashed it." He took a deep breath as his eyes turned red "That is why I do not want him gaining control. If he goes to it before I fight my way back, he will be a martyr and show Dean that he isn't the monster we all know he is... He knows no matter what I cannot let him go, nor can I take full control, as he remains strong." Tag: AZAZEL Notes: Sorry for the wait Words: 670

He hadn’t been there the first time to see his father walk free but the witch had been happy enough to fill him in on what he had missed the moment he been pulled from the Empty. It had all gone wrong because they had underestimated the strength of the Winchesters and the bond between the two of them. Lucifer had been cast back due to that underestimation. It wouldn’t happen again. They were wiser now, better prepared. Sam could battle all he liked now, raging behind those green eyes as he was taunted by the thing that had slowly carved his family’s lives to pieces for decades but in the end that was all he would be able to do.
Azazel hummed lightly, shrugging his shoulders as he disregarded Lucifer’s warnings for the most part. There was no apology, either in his words or in his tone as he stepped back, just that rise of his hands to ward off any retribution for making Sammy rattle the bars in there. ”Can the witch not prevent him from having a front row seat?” he asked. Rowena had power, what use was it if she couldn’t do what they asked with it. If her usefulness was spent then sooner or later the fate he’d mentioned to Meg would come true. Lucifer would cast the witch aside like a broken toy. His father had no loyalty to their kind, that had always been what had set him apart from his kin.
Lucifer had missed so much of the lead up to all of this. He hadn’t seen the Winchesters trying their hardest to prevent him from busting open the cage with his second batch of special children. Running around like headless chickens until Bobby Singer and the rest of their back up crew had arrived, just a little too late, to try and rein Sammy back in. He’d seen it all himself though, watched as the effort to take care of him had fallen apart. Looking up into Sam’s eyes as he continued to grip his father’s arm, Azazel laughed lightly. ”I had hoped they were but I know better than to trust that they’re not considering every outcome. They almost lost last time because they couldn’t see the bigger picture. They know about it now, know that Nick would be the first that you would go for once you had decided to toss Sammy aside.” He had expected his father to lash out in frustration at that but instead Lucifer was grinning. Perhaps reconsidering how long he would stay in the hunter. Azazel flashed his teeth in a tight grin of his own. ”Pros and cons,” he drawled ”At least bleed Sam dry of those pros before you break him again. Use him up, wring him out, make sure the at when they get him back he will never be the same again.” They had come so close to that the last time but in the end the angel had pulled Sammy’s fractured mind back together.
Such a shame.
His father confirmed just what he had hoped. That mental image leaving him beaming until the archangel blade was mentioned. The smile turned brittle, white teeth flashing in something closer to a grimace than a smile. ”If it’s anywhere it’ll be with family,” Azazel managed through gritted teeth. ”He might not have told them he had it or where he’d hidden it but you know if he couldn’t go out that way he would have found some way to get it to them.” A plan B for when throwing himself on that particularly deadly sword failed in the end, like so many of Sammy’s plans inevitably did. ”Singer’s farmhouse,” Azazel breathed. He stared at his father’s face as his eyes turned red, his own yellow eyes narrowing, feeling that power in his father’s veins. Not enough, not yet. ”The witch will make sure he doesn’t. In the end he’ll crumble and the sword will be ours. It’s too late for Sam, his brother already saw what he did to those children, he knows that monster is all that he can call his brother now.” He hoped Sam heard that much at least. He hoped, with a sneer, that it stared to break the strength Sammy was fighting so hard to muster. It was too late to play innocent, they had all seen too much.

Lucifer:
Lucifer knew the strength of the Winchesters and their extended 'family'. It was the reason he was staying away for so long. The Archangel knew that if Gabriel could see him now, he would be laughing. Lucifer, the King of Hell, hiding away from a group of humans because they were enough to bring him down, would be laughable even to himself if it was anyone but himself. His father knew what he was doing when he ensured that he and Micheal could only inhabit the Winchester bloodline. It was God's last laugh before he flew the nest. Lucifer was adamant he would have the last laugh against his father and inhabit Nick and take over heaven. Pride may have been a human sin, but he knew he was also burdened with it. "Do you not think I have thought about that? It's a downside of having to ask permission to harness a vessel, unlike you, who takes full control by force. I have to have content. The second Sam grows strong enough, and his self-loathing disappears, he will be able to cast me out." Lucifer laughed dryly and shook his head. "He's done it before with a brother of mine. It is just harder to do it for me."Lucifer shrugged. Azazel would be the only person he would admit weakness to. He knew his loyal disciple would help rather than go blab to the opposition. The yellowed eyed demon was giving him ideas that he had already considered. "Do you think I have not considered that?" Then his son continued to make it sound like he had underestimated the Winchesters again. "Everyone seems to think they will best me again, but I have an ace in the hole that even you will not know until it is needed. Those denim wrapped nightmares will not put me down again."The angel nodded. "Oh, I will bleed him of more than just the pros. I will bleed him dry of everything that makes him." Lucifer was aware more than most of what made Sam well, Sam. He would strip him all of it until even Dean couldn't bring him back or recognise his brother. Even God wouldn't be able to recognise his least favourite toy. After Lucifer was finished with the human he would be headed to the deepest depth of Hell, no matter what he did to repent. Lucifer scoffed. "You really think that Sam would have left it under their noses and they hadn't noticed yet?" That was the one place the Devil hadn't considered it being. He believed Sam and him were so alike that the last place he would put an item of such importance with family. Lucifer would never put anything he treasured in possession of his family but maybe he had underestimated Sammy after all. "If you really think it is at Singers, I have an idea." Lucifer knew that until they found the blade the Winchester wouldn't fall. He wouldn't give up. He was stubborn and strong. That was why God had picked him to be his own vessel. God thought he had the last laugh and in a way he had. Sam wouldn't give in. Nobody had ever lasted this long when Lucifer choose to torture them. Even demons had given up by now. Hell, Even Lilith would have cracked by now. Sam was a stubborn bastard and Lucifer wasn't sure if even he would be able to crack the Winchester when he had an inch of hope."Sam will only break when we put our hands on the blade." Lucifer shook his head. "Sam knows squirrel will never see him the same again, that broke him but not enough. He believes that if he gives Dean the blade then all will be forgiven because even though he freed me he also hands over my way to be stopped." Now who was underestimating Dean? He would always find a way to forgive his brother no matter what and Sam knew this as well. It's either they kill Dean or destroy the blade but neither would be easy. With Lucifer's hesitation and doubt Sam knew there was a way to win in the end. Tag: AZAZEL Notes: Sorry for the wait.
