APPLICATION GUIDELINES
We have been seeing a lot of new characters being made lately and it is clear that there are a lot more exciting characters on the horizon but we all feel that it is time that we record some of the rules we have always followed when it comes to applications but have never actually written down so you guys know what you need to keep in mind. Some general guidelines to help you help us are also set out below. Please note these are not definitive and may be added to at any time.
The labels referred to below can be applied by following the steps below when in the application thread:-
1. Edit the post.
2. Click on the dropdown next to the cog on the right hand side of the thread title.
3. Pick the appropriate label from those available.
The labels referred to below can be applied by following the steps below when in the application thread:-
1. Edit the post.
2. Click on the dropdown next to the cog on the right hand side of the thread title.
3. Pick the appropriate label from those available.
- Please select the WIP label for applications that are a work in progress. This allows us to immediately distinguish which apps are finished and which are not without having to load the thread itself. You can change this label to Posts Needed or Ready in line with the below once you have finished your application.
- Please select the Posts Needed label if you are submitting an application but haven't yet done three posts spread over two threads with your last character or for the application you wish to have reviewed second if you have two applications ready at the same time. The application marked with the Posts Needed label can have the label changed to Ready once you have completed at least three posts spread over two active threads with your latest character.
- Please change to the Ready label once you have finished your application and have three posts spread over two threads for your previous character. Please also tag all staff either in the thread or on Discord (there is no need to do both) to let us know. This is so easy to miss but again it lets us know straight away once you have finished.
- Applications for reserved canons (show and site) must be posted within the reservation period. Reservations for both show and site canons last one week, two at most if an extension is requested, and an application must be posted within this reservation period. Failure to do so will result in the reservation expiring and being removed. If when you are ready to post the application no one else has reserved the character or has a WIP app posted for them you are welcome to make an account and post an application but if there is a valid reservation or application being worked on you will have to wait. In order to request a one week extension, please message a member of staff who will arrange this for you.
- WIP applications for canons (show and site) must be completed within two weeks of posting. This is ensure that the applications are being actively worked on and are not left there indefinitely to stop someone else from applying for that character. An application will be marked as inactive if it has not been completed within two weeks of being posted and anyone else will be free to apply for that character. The application will be moved to the inactive board where it can still be worked on and if it is completed within a further two weeks and no one else has applied for the character, the original application can be approved. If after the further two weeks the original application is not completed or someone else's application is approved, the original application will be denied and the account will be deleted.
- WIP applications for characters requested in wanted ads must be completed within three weeks of posting. Again, this is to ensure that applications are being actively worked on and are not just posted and forgotten about. If an application is not completed within three weeks of posting it will be moved to the inactive board where it can still be worked on. If the application is not completed within a further two weeks, the application will be denied. It is however then up to the person who posted the wanted ad to decide whether to give the person applying for the character another chance or whether to reopen the ad instead.
- WIP applications for OCs must be completed within four weeks of posting. Again, this is to ensure that applications are being actively worked on and are not just posted and forgotten about. If an application is not completed within four weeks of posting it will be moved to the inactive board where it can still be worked on. If the application is not completed within a further two weeks, the application will be denied and the account will be deleted.
- Completed apps can be marked as pending. If you submit an application for review and it is pended because changes need to be made, those changes must be made within two weeks for both canons and OCs. If the changes are not made within this time the application will be marked as inactive and if they are not made within a further two weeks, the application will be denied and the account will be deleted. Apps will also be pended once they have been completed if you have not done the required amount of posts with the last character you made.
- We operate on a three strike rule for OCs and two strike rule for canons. We don't like pending or denying applications but sometimes it is necessary. Applications can be pended a total of three times for OCs and twice for canons and if they are not approved after this because there are still substantial changes that need to be made, they will be denied. We do try to send PMs that set the required changes out as clearly as possible but we can't write the applications for you, nor can we spend all our time going back and forth trying to get the application to a point where it can be approved so we need to draw the line somewhere.
- Each person can have a maximum of two WIP apps at one time. This rule does not apply to applications that were posted before the date of this thread but is intended to limit the amount of WIP apps we have on the site at one time.
- You must have done three posts spread over two threads (with different characters) with your last character before a new one can be approved. While we appreciate that rapid fire threads can sometimes be useful when it comes to racking up posts quite quickly, we do need to see that characters are being used with more than just one other character so this is a necessary precaution.
