 til now. Born minutes after his twin brother Eros, and very much living up to his name almost from birth, Ares grew up in a very close Greek community in Miami. His parents both worked in the legal profession but from a very young age Ares was focused on only one thing - the military. He dragged his brother along with him into the JROTC - after bargaining hard with his parents - and then into the Marines with him. Ares might not have had a concrete grip on his temper then but he'd eventually grown into the magic that had run in his family's blood for centuries in the Greek islands. Despite that temper he and Eros rose up the ranks in the Marines for a decade before they hit that camo print ceiling. Rise up any further and they were out of the field. Rather than be forced out the twins took themselves out. While Eros headed to Mystic Falls to make good on his medical training in the Marines and become a doctor, Ares went to the police academy in Miami where he'd meet Claire. A year after graduating Eros crooked his finger and the twins were reunited again in a town where the supernatural community was piling files high on the sheriff's desk. Reunited with Claire, Ares has settled into the job and the reality where he'll constantly find people to butt heads with.
friends. Despite a reputation for being a hot head Ares has plenty of these. His closest friend will always be his twin brother, even when they're fighting, but he's always made room for more. Ares was close to his marine corps unit and has formed strong friendships with his patrol partners, especially his current one.
enemies. Going to war multiple times should've put plenty of people on this list but the truth is that Ares has never taken war personally. As a cop he's likely to have earned more and once what he is gets around Ares imagines he'll be facing more animosity.
family. Ares' family is what has always meant the most to him. He might bicker with his twin brother, Eros, constantly, but when it comes down to it they're twins and nothing will ever come between them. Ares is aware that he probably drives his little sister Clio and his parents crazy too but at the end of the day this is a family that will always remain close.
lovers. In comparison with his aptly named brother there haven't been all that many of these. For a couple of years he was, by necessity, in a low key relationship with a Navy SEAL. Since he came to town his life has been almost monk like, except for the night tempers boiled over and Brooke Everett became the thickest brick wall he's ever smashed his head against.

I love the idea of the store getting broken into. Ares would do his duty if he was off the clock or not and I think once he gets in there he'll be keen to poke into everything. He's a man who likes to read, especially when it might come to his heritage and having another magic user around might come in handy at some point for him. That sig is super distracting, I know
Ares could certainly use more buddies in town. I can see them all descending on the Grill and Campbell's en mass. XD Olivia won't be able to breath with all the testosterone in there. Ooh, Ares would be seriously intrigued if he saw what Ollie could do. He'd be asking all sorts of questions trying to figure out if Ollie is just a late bloomer magic wise. Once he realises Ollie has no idea about it he'd probably try and break it all to him gently.

Poor Stiles, always getting under foot. Yep, that sounds good to me. Just let me know whenever you're ready for it.
Clea will be fine. She's used to their sort. Ares will try and be at least a little helpful, that's just who he is, but yeah, there'll be questions until he's been able to follow all of the lines in his head to try and figure out what Ollie is.

Oooh, me likey. Ares is the sort to understand wanting a little vengeance for something, although he'd probably be more likely to hold back under the same circumstances. He'd definitely be the sort of hot head to go chasing down a thief on foot and would appreciate a little help stopping him. If he spotted anything bizarre happening he'd be all sorts of interested after the confusion wore off. Then being Ares he'd probe at it all a bit. |

It could totally be either.  Just me being helpful. Ares has been in town for a couple of years now, I think. He left the Marines four years ago and went to through the police academy in Miami (I think!). He stayed put for a while there, until his twin made the leap to Mystic Falls and Ares decided to follow him. Depending on where Samantha was before they could've met then. Ares might've taken some trips home on occasion to see his parents since or done a little vacation travelling but most of the two years would've been spent in time. Could always have Ares think his powers of pursuit were spectacular for a few minutes. |

That totally works for me! Cop exchange program. Ares would've loved imparting some of his wisdom and it's just like him to go and put his foot in it afterwards. He'd think he was being a decent guy, asking about family and stuff and then wham, feet so far down his throat he's choking on the laces! |

Hi! So I wanna get Dani's witchy side into action and was wondering if you'd be up for Ares being involved in that? If not no worries! I was thinking maybe she gets called into the station because one of her brother's was caught vandalizing or something and Ares is the cop she talks to? When her emotions are high it influences her undiscovered magic. She could be stressfully trying to say her brother is a good kid etc, and her magic causes all the phones in the station to ring or something xD Maybe Ares is able to recognise the emotion-magic connection because he's seen it before? Lmk what you think

I would absolutely be up for that! I've always loved the thought of hot headed Ares ending up playing warlock guru to someone.
He's been trying to play the big brother sort with the teenagers at town, doing talks at the school and stuff so he'd definitely be the sort to step in if he saw a kid screwing up, and especially if that kid's sister then starts to lose it a little at the station. When Bonnie was in play before Ares talked her down in a similar situation and I think he'd deffo be up for doing it again.
