friends. Deck has very few friends. Before the loss of his wife he was close to the members of his unit and had made friends across the world. Sophie’s death changed him and now he actively avoids allowing anybody to get close to him.
enemies. He has a few of the human sort, those he faced overseas, the relatives of some of those he wasn’t able to save. There could also be a few wolves looking to put him on their list of enemies. Deck killed the wolf who killed his wife but who knows how many more were out there now marking him.
family. These days his family consists of his dad, his brother Lucas and his soon to be sister-in-law. The deaths of both his mother and his wife have deeply scarred his life.
lovers. Just like friends, Deck’s not actively looking for any of these. The love of his life was killed by a werewolf and after that he’s not prepared to get close to somebody. What Deck says and what happens aren’t always the same thing though.

I'm going to be helpful and say that any of those would be fine with me.  Outside the hospital Deck tends to keep to himself but will always step in when he sees somebody in trouble. Given that he's also friends with @alessandra I can imagine him stepping in to help if he thinks she needs it with a patient. Perhaps see what Chuckles says about placing the three of them together in a thread.

I have a feeling these two could become friends. Greg doesn't like letting people get too close to him after losing his wife and Nick often has trouble because he has to keep what he is from everyone. They work at the hospital together so perhaps they could strike up a friendship? I don't know if Greg is aware of the supernatural or not yet but Nick might be a good introduction to that for him if you want him to find out.

Deck could certainly do with one of those. He's had his shields up for so long, not letting anybody see through them. Alex managed to crack them though and since she's not been around, I can see him starting to back slide a little. Having someone at the hospital to keep that momentum of change up would be great. Greg's only experience with the supernatural was the werewolf that attacked him and his wife. He killed it the month afterwards and has almost shoved all thoughts of it aside since. I was going to have a thread with Chuckles where a case very similar to his wife's death comes into the ER and it really rattles Deck. We could do something similar to that or go with a softer introduction to what he knows about what's out there?

Were the scratches what turned her into a werecoyote? We could always combine the two ideas a little. Gen goes to the hospital to get the victim's story, speaks with Deck instead about what might've been said before said victim falls unconscious. While she's there either he could notice her getting uncomfortable or she could bring them up and ask him for a quick favour in checking them out. It might rattle Deck a little to see something that reminds him of the wounds he got the night he and his wife were attacked.  |

I think werecoyotes heal like werewolves do, so by now they probably have healed up, but it could always be psychosomatic as much as anything. I do like that second idea though. The look of a clawed attack would really shake Deck up and you know how I love torturing characters. XD He be doing his job but freaking out on the inside the whole time.

LOL That would work too. Deck's not going to be keen to open too much about the truth of the attack (he killed the werewolf the month after) but it would be really good for him to lance that wound and tell someone else what happened.

Always so helpful.  Deck would be more likely to open up about it in a hospital setting. He's going to get a little rattled in a thread with Genevieve. Perhaps a second animal attack case comes in during that week and it rattles Deck to the point where Nick steps in and things can start opening up from there.

Had it been a year ago Deck would've said absolutely no way but he's grown a little friendlier. I can see him offering to do that sort of thing now and when he realises just what trouble she's got lurking in her past and catching up to her he'd be the idiot sort of friend who'd try and step in to help.

I saw that thread! And it looks just like something Deck would go rushing into. He's always been the hero sort and would see the victim of a car wreck as someone to play white knight with. He's definitely stubborn enough not to listen to her trying to skate away from medical help. *LOL* He'd be calling for the restraints and backboard. |
