After being let down by all of in his family he doesn't always find it easy to let people in but he is the kind of person who gets along with pretty much everyone and he will always go out of his way to help someone in need. Enemies;; Holding grudges is something that Matt doesn't really tend to do, not does he have enemies. He is currently still in the dark about the supernatural but there are possibly people he has grown up with who are jealous of his relationship with Caroline or the fact that he excels on the football field. Lovers;; Falling in love is something that Matt doesn't tend to take lightly, even though Elena only decided to start a relationship with him because she felt like she owed it to herself to see if there could be anything more than friendship between them there was always much more to it than that for Matt. He fell in love with her and he was hurt when she started showing affection towards Stefan but he has now finally found a way to move on and he has done so with Caroline. He has yet to admit it but he has fallen for her and in doing so he has left his feelings for Elena far behind him. Relationships;;@rebekah - Girlfriend, good friend

Since Melinda is struggling a lot with being a vampire I imagine Matt would probably notice that something was going on with her and become suspicious if they already knew each other already. It might work better if perhaps they know of each other from school but aren't that familiar with one another, they were friends when they were younger and drifted apart or they are just meeting for the first time now. What do you think?

That works for me! Matt could always help her find her way around if you do decide to have her get a job there as well if you like. Calla might even be a nice introduction to the supernatural world for Matt if the two of them become friends.

Works for me and if you wouldn't mind starting that would be great  I don't want Matt to find out about the supernatural straight away but I thought it would be good to go with something other than having him find out that vampires are real like he did in the show. He would probably just think that Calla is weird at first before finding out what is actually going on although that wouldn't stop him befriending her. @melinda

To be honest most of Matt's time tends to be spent at school, on the football field, at work at the Grill or with one of his friends so he probably doesn't tend to have time to walk around town too often. Maybe a social setting like the Grill would work - Melinda could always show up while Matt is working and they could catch up during his break? Or they could always have a free period together at school or something. What do you think?

I absolutely loved these two on the show, they were actually one of my favourite pairings so I am definitely up for a thread for these two. I like that idea, yeah! Matt is working at the Grill if you want to have her stop by there, or they could bump into each other somewhere around town and get talking.

If you don't mind making something I would appreciate it  I know you've discussed it a bit with Rissy but if Ariel flirts with Matt even though he will set her straight right away he will probably still have to tell Caroline so he isn't keeping secrets from her about that so you might want to avoid that if you want Ariel to befriend Caroline. Having them meet at the Grill works for me though.

I think it would be great for these two to meet! I have had it previously that Matt is still working as a busboy but because he needs the money he takes whatever shifts he can get and sometimes covers other positions as well when they are short staffed. I think he is probably one of the people who has been working there the longest so perhaps he could show Nikki around on her first day and they could get talking that way?
