So, Mab wasn’t useless, she just wasn’t very forthcoming, which he expected. She also wasn’t very welcoming either, which again, is what he expected. There was no need for her to be salty though. Cassie and Tobi did their best to kidnap that vampire, but it wasn’t their fault it was a slippery one. Mab was dangling her promise to help with Kai, but that wasn’t enough to have Tobi running after the vampire. Plus, how could he? They moved at like a million miles an hour and Tobi wasn’t prepared to break a sweat over it. Turned out he didn’t even need Mab’s help in the end anyway because Kai was still tucked away nicely in his prison world. It was a false alarm and the Parker’s found out it wasn't him taking out members of the coven, it was down to some unhinged hitlist. Tobi was low-key flattered that his name had made it on this list, with an enticing reward. He proposed they all find a way to fake their own deaths, collect the cash and run but none of his siblings jump at the offer. Boring. His next point of call was Cassie and she was a lot easier to find than Mab. It was a pleasant surprise to find her working in the pawn shop because it meant he could also see if they had any daylight rings for sale. Two birds, one stone. Dishing out rings to vampires across Europe was going to be a lot easier than Mystic Falls. His parents were there and if word got back to them he was helping vampires he’d be in a world of shit. They didn’t hate vampires, but it wasn’t a popular conversation around the dinner table. Tobi inspected a few things on the shelves on his way to the counter, picking a few items up to look at them closer. Nothing of interest though. Once he reached the till he pressed the little bell a few times. As he waited for someone to appear he peered through the glass cabinet. Again, nothing grabbed his eye. Tobi broke into a huge grin once he saw Cassie enter the shop floor. “Guess who’s back!” He gestured towards himself, “It’s me... I’m back!” Dragged by from his travels, kicking and screaming. “Will you ever forgive me for leaving you with The Wicked Witch of Mystic Falls?” The decision to leave town was an impulsive one, there was no time to have a farewell party. He packed his bags, announced his departure to his parents, and left a handwritten note to the manager at Coffee Bean saying he quit and boarded a plane. CASSIE LUANNA

━ climb that goddamn mountain ━ CASSIE FLITTED AROUND THE BACK OF THE shop happily, humming to herself as she cleaned up the boxes and whatever else. Her cot was already tucked away, and Olive was sleeping on a pile of folded curtains, clearly not giving a shit about anything Cassie was doing. She puffed, disappointed, and carried on, only stopping once (okay, maybe a few times) to text Linc back. She sent over a picture of her and Olive, who didn’t even open her eyes, and then went back to tidying up. She polished all the pretty daylight rings, then dusted the counters for the supernatural folk, and organized what was left.
She didn’t hear the front door’s bell dinging as she slid a pile of boxes across the floor, but, thankfully, it was in its place by the time the counter bell rang.
“Whooops,” Cassie whispered, glancing at Olive━who looked irritated to be woken up━as she walked into the front, pushing aside the curtain that divided the spaces.
She did not expect to see Tobi. Looking… a lot different. Hotter, definitely. Was it the facial hair? Maybe. You wouldn’t think she’d be into that━considering, y’know, Linc━but she couldn’t say it wasn’t workin’ for him. Plus, he totes looked, like, less gay? And, y’know, there wasn’t anything wrong with being gay, obvi, but why would she be interested in a gay dude? Aaaanyway, none of that mattered, ‘cause she had a boyfriend now. Not that Tobi would know… ‘cause he’d been gone!
“Hey!” Cassie beamed, rushing out from behind the counter so she could get to him, laughing and letting out a, “No way! Never!” Before throwing her arms around Tobi and pulling him in for a hug. “Like, I totally get why you abandoned me, ‘cause she sucks,” Cassie was grinning as she pulled away and looked up at him. “But it was super mean. Anyway, where have you beeeen?! You missed so much! What’s up?!” Cassie rattled off all her questions at once, giving his arms a little squeeze before she let her hands drop, staring up at Tobi expectantly.

Despite the constant stream of mumbles and grumbles that came from Tobi he was still trying his best to help his family. Actions spoke louder than words. For starters he literally risked his life by approaching Mab but of course his family didn’t know that because they had no idea he was part of some illegal break in. It was no big deal though. With Kai gone someone needed to pick up the role of being a disappointment to the family. Tobi was already winning the race so he may as well take first prize. Whenever his sibling was being kept sounded awful. Most of them had already spent years being trapped on the other side, now to be trapped in some nether zone. There was no saying how long they’d been there either. Could have been spanning into months which was concerning. If it was Tobi stuck out there he wasn’t sure he’d be able to endure being trapped again. Waiting patiently for someone to come and get you. He threw his arms around Cassie, bringing her in for a tight hug. Cassie was speaking nothing but facts. Mab did suck with her shitty bitchy attitude that was unneeded. Bitch didn’t even say thank you to Cassie and him for trying to help. Maybe she should have been the one with a backup to catch up the vampire when he darted out of the cell. He broke away from Cassie, laughing. “I’ve been doing that whole interrailing thing around Europe and let me tell you something, Italian men are sooo hot.” Italy had the men, Spain had the women. He did some sightseeing in the midst of picking up men and women and drinking a concerning amount of alcohol. “What’d I miss whilst I've been away? I need the gossip.” The important stuff like who was dating who and who hooked up with who. All gossips and jokes aside though, “We’ve got a bit of a problem in the Parker household anyway. Someone is missing. We think they’ve been taken by a bunch of people called the Ghost Riders. Have you heard of them?”CASSIE LUANNA

━ climb that goddamn mountain ━ AH, THERE IT WAS, THE GAY THING. IT WAS FINE; seriously, Cassie was not a homophobe, but sometimes it felt like it came outta nowhere with Tobi. Especially when he looked so good now. But Cassie laughed anyway, raising her brows as she looked him over. “Well, I think Europe likes you back━you look really good!” She beamed and squeezed his biceps, then finally pulled away.
“Ummm, gossip. Well, I have a boyfriend now!” She smiled proudly. Honestly, she’d just been waiting for a way to drop it in. “And I kinda finally got rid of the evil bitches from my past ‘cause of it. ‘Cause, y’know… he’s a vampire. So it pissed them off.” Cassie said it all pretty quickly. She wasn’t totally sure how Tobi felt about them, but she kinda figured it was the same as it was with all witches━if they didn’t hate them, then it was a kinda-dislike sorta thing. Anyway, Cassie forced herself on, “Not much, honestly… oh, I got a cat━who I’m trying to make my familiar but she isn’t totally into it━and I’ve brought two dudes back from the dead successfully!” Cassie raised her hand, proudly showing off her middle and index finger━y’know, just in case Tobi didn’t hear her yell it.
But then he went on about kinda, like, serious family stuff, and Cassie slowly lowered her hand and just listened. As she did, her eyes slowly began to widen. “Holy shit. No?!” She squeaked, “Like Nicolas Cage? With the fire skull and the motorcycle and shit?” Her brows jumped up. “Who did they take? I’m so sorry,” She didn’t have any siblings, but she imagined it sucked to have anybody get… taken by some evil supernatural dude.

Tobi broke into a wide smile. He felt good, minus the whole missing sibling that was going on. A trip to Europe was exactly what he needed. A break from his family allowed him time to process what happened to him that eventful night over ten years ago. “Back at you! You look radiant.” A look of excitement rushed over his face when Cassie announced she had a boyfriend. A vampire boyfriend too. Controversial, but Tobi loved it. If he brought a vampire boyfriend or girlfriend home to the Parker house World War three would erupt. “Well, so long as he treats you right and doesn’t bite you without your permission.” Although there was something sexy about the unhinged ones. “Two?” He exclaimed proudly, “That’s two more than I’ve ever managed.” His magic didn’t stretch quite that far, yet. “Similar to Nicholas Cage, but these fuckers arrive on a horse. They take people somewhere and erase all memories of them.” He sighed softly, “Well, we don’t know exactly who's taken because of the whole memory erasing shit but we know someones missing.” Neither Cassie or Mab could help him, so he was all out of options. Back to the drawing board, which was pretty fucking blank so far. Each idea that sprung to mind was shot down instantly, “Not to worry though!” He broke into another wide smile, “We’ll find them.” He tried to sound positive, despite the sinking fear they weren’t going to find his sibling. “Anyway I gotta dash but let's meet up soon for cocktails and you can tell me everything about your boyfriend!” He stepped forward, bringing Cassie in for another hug before leaving the store, feeling pretty damn deflated. CASSIE LUANNA - end!
