━ i'm something bad ━ LUCKY PACED HER SMALL BATHROOM IN A SMALL panic. Okay, small panic? No, she was gonna fuckin’ snap. She kept blinking away the haziness in her eyes, and it kept coming back, but the faint line never disappeared. It was there, blurry vision or not. Fuck. She was absolutely fucked.
She’d ruin Mitch for this, too. This prick basically forced her to bang her brother-in-law, and now she was gonna have his fucking fire-breathing-bird-brain fucking kid.
Oh my God. Oh my fucking God.
Lucky clutched the test like a weapon and covered her mouth with the other hand, letting out something that was a mixture of a scream and a pained cry. She couldn’t fucking believe this. She couldn’t fucking believe Cameron wanted to do it. That was so fucking gross.
Lucky pulled herself together and went to the hotel. Cat had to know before this got worse. Secretly, though, she was hoping Cat wouldn’t be there, and that maybe she’d get to tear a strip off her boss instead. Maybe he could take Lucky out next, and she wouldn’t have to deal with the consequences of this. Cat would figure out raising a kid, right? And Cam would feel so fucking guilty that he’d have no choice but to take care of Lucille. Everyone would be fine.
But she’d miss her daughter, and, fuck, maybe Cat could do it, but would Lucky want Lucille to be raised by her sister? No fucking way.
The walk to the hotel hadn’t calmed her down. Really, instead of Grey, she hoped Lottie would be around. Not because her other sister was good at handling, like, any situation at all, but because then Lucky wouldn’t have to admit anything to Catia.
Fuck. She was such a fucking chicken shit. But what was she gonna say? Hey, I know your boyfriend died and just got back and shit, but I’m linked to some dude who banged someone else the night I went to give Cam shit, and accidentally banged him instead. Sorry.
Cat was gonna fucking kill her. After everything she’d done to repair this relationship.
Lucky slipped past the grand fucking doors, her eyes darting to the front desk, where some dude stood instead of her sister. She walked in a little farther, past the sitting area, and ducked her head down a hallway, seeing Lottie dusting… something. “Where the fuck is everybody?” Lucky grumbled, stomping up like she’d had plans to meet Lottie. “You missed a whole fucking chunk of dust there. Are you fucking blind or do you just continuously lose brain cells the longer you do anything?” She pointed at a thin wedge Lottie, honestly, just probably hadn’t gotten to yet. But when Lucky looked at her sister’s face, she immediately deflated.
“Sorry. I think I got knocked up.” Lucky said, as though it was an excuse for her “hormones,” like she wasn’t just always a fucking bitch anyway. She didn’t consider the potential repercussions of telling Lottie, though.

It was a two to one vote. Lotite was to trust Grey. Viv told her to ignore Lucky as she was probably just trying to scare Lottie and Catia was adamant Grey could be trusted. It still played on her mind that Grey could have killed people. It wasn’t the only thing that was weighing heavy on her mind though. JJ was prominent in there as well. Technically she hadn’t cheated on Freddie because they were on their way to a divorce, but it felt like she’d done something wrong by sleeping with JJ. It was ridiculous, especially as Freddie did cheat on her. She hadn’t told anyone about JJ, not even Viv. Although the morning after the deed she was on the verge of texting Freddie to tell him what had happened, like he needed to know. The evening she spent with JJ was a bit hazy, thanks to the few cocktails she knocked back at Campbells Bar. She messaged him the following day to say she had fun with him and maybe they should meet up again, but JJ wasn’t very forthcoming. It became apparent it was just a one night stand, something Lottie wasn’t really built for. She formed an emotional connection with every single man she slept with, but she knew she had to push JJ out of her mind. That began impossible once she realised her period was a few days late. Okay, it could have been late for multiple reasons, but obviously Lottie jumped to the worst conclusion. She was pregnant with JJ’s child. How the hell was she going to raise a child whilst living in a hotel? They had family rooms though, so maybe she could move into one of those. Catia and Lucky could help her raise the child. It was fine, everything was going to be fine. Lottie had always wanted a child anyway, so maybe this was her chance, even if it was with some random guy she met in a bar. Maybe JJ would warm to the idea of being a dad and they could try make some kind of relationship work, for the sake of their children. Okay, now she was overthinking a little too much. She needed to check she was actually pregnant first before planning a future with JJ and her unborn child. After work she would head straight for the pharmacy. She dusted one of the lamps in the hallway lightly, the feather duster going over it a thousand times as she was too busy thinking about what she wanted to happen. Did she actually want to be pregnant? Would she be disappointed if the test said negative? Her attention was pulled away from the lamp as she saw Lucky storming towards her. Oh fuck, her sister didn’t seem like she was in a great mood which meant Lottie was about to have strips torn off her. When they were children and Lucky was in a bad mood Lottie would hide in her room, only surfacing when things had calmed down. Sometimes she never made it to her bedroom quick enough though and faced Lucky’s sharp tongue, which often brought her to tears. It started instantly as she accused Lottie of missing a chunk of dust. She glanced down at the thin wedge for a second. Had she dusted there yet? “I’m getting to that.” She mumbled as she looked back at her sister sheepishly. Her expression lightened up at her sister’s news. “Congratulations! Lucille is gonna be over the moon to have a little brother or sister.” It was probably going to be another girl knowing their track record. Lottie was over the moon too because that meant she and her sister could be pregnant at the same time. Their children could be best friends, go to school together and go to college together. It was going to be great! If Lottie was pregnant too. “So…” She lowered her voice even though there was no one in the hallway, “I think I’m pregnant as well.” Oooo, hopefully she’d have a little girl too. LUCKY CHRISTMAS

━ i'm something bad ━ OF COURSE LOTTIE DIDN’T GET THE FUCKING hint. Lucky rolled her eyes as she congratulated her little sister instead of fucking mourning with her. But, y’know, obviously having a kid was supposed to be a good thing. It just hadn’t ever worked out that way for Lucky. She loved Lucille, obviously, and wouldn’t give her up for the world, but everything would’ve been easier without her. They wouldn’t be here right now, for starters. Catia would’ve never left, and Lucky wouldn’t have to be in Mystic Falls…
But there was no fucking point trying to change the past. It was done, and now she had to move forward… and maybe raise Cam’s kid. Fuck.
“No, it’s not a fucking good thing.” Lucky hissed under her breath, not even looking at Lottie. She crossed her arms over herself, more for self-soothing than anything else. “I don’t know for sure. I gotta go to a walk-in clinic or something and get it checked. I took a test this morning, though, and…” She trailed off, sighing heavily with no plans to continue. Lottie wouldn’t fucking understand, anyway, and she meant that literally. It wouldn’t permeate her thick fucking skull.
Lucky’s eyes snapped up to Lottie when she said she also might be having a kid, her brows furrowing. She tried to do the math in her head, but eventually spluttered, “Is it Freddie’s?” She’d almost forgotten his name. Leave it to Lottie to find some way to stay in this guy’s life, though━she wouldn’t be surprised if Lottie did it on purpose. “How the fuck didn’t you know? What do you mean you think?” She could try to go through the early symptoms with Lottie (if she could remember), but then she’d start fucking spiralling and going through them herself.
“I gotta leave.” Lucky puffed and shook her head. Just talking about it any fucking longer wouldn’t do anything━it’d only make her freak out more. She had to take a test and know for sure, otherwise she’d never stop fucking spiralling.

Since the moment she and Freddie married she longed for a child to complete their perfect little family. Her dream was to have two girls.. They would be born a year or so apart so they could be best friends, just like her and Viv. The dream would be to have twin girls, but Viv explained those odds tended to skip a generation which made no sense to Lottie because Viv was the older one. So it would skip her and come straight to Lottie. Hopefully. But now she was praying there was only one growing inside her because she couldn’t handle two right now. Lucky’s energy didn’t match Lottie’s, though it rarely did. The surprise child wasn’t something to be celebrated. “And?” And what? “Well y’know what they say. Those tests are like 99% accurate so like…” She trailed off, realising this wasn’t what Lucky needed to hear. “But it could have been a faulty one so yeah, let’s head to the clinic!” Already under the assumption that she was also invited on this little trip. It was time for her to lock into the big sister role. Was it Freddies? Lottie remained quiet for a moment as she mulled over that idea, but no that was impossible. She wasn’t stupid enough to miscalculate the months that much. “No course not!” She exclaimed, as if she’d been sure of that the whole time. “Well I haven’t done a test yet.” The only sign was that her period was a few days late and of course she was going to jump to the extreme. Lottie reached out, grabbing her sister lightly by the arm. “No… let’s go to the clinic. Together!” She’d already thrown her feather duster down and was ready to leave before Lucky had the chance to protest. “I won’t tell anyone… I promise.” She may have had the IQ of a newborn baby but she still knew how to be a good sister. Holding a secret like that may cause her to spontaneously combust, but she’d do it for Lucky. Once they were checked in at the clinic she settled down next to Lucky. “Who might be the dad?” She paused for a second, before starting to talk again, “I’ll tell you about mine! So, his name is JJ. He’s English and works for like some newspaper or something.” She kept her voice somewhat low as she spoke, but there was still volume there. LUCKY CHRISTMAS

━ i'm something bad ━ LOTTIE DIDN’T HAVE A FUCKING CLUE MOST OF the time, but of course she had to spit out some fact about at-home tests and their accuracy. How fucking annoying. The follow-up about being faulty didn’t help, despite Lottie’s efforts.
Whatever. She’d go to the fucking clinic and get this thing, like, sucked out of her if she fucking had to. She could not gonna have Cam’s fucking kid.
And, apparently, Lottie wasn’t gonna have her husband’s. It wasn’t surprising if you considered how long it’d been, but it was when you thought about Lottie picking up a man. Maybe it wasn’t so crazy for a one-night stand━guys didn’t care about your personality (or lack thereof) for those.
“Together?” Lucky repeated incredulously, but then she was being hauled off without time to reply, and she puffed out a breath and went anyway. Lottie wasn’t gonna let her go alone after this, and maybe it wouldn’t be so awful to have someone with her (she’d regret this later).
After they checked in, Lucky dropped heavily onto the chairs and crossed her arms over herself, honey eyes jumping toward the big windows to stare outside. She wanted a smoke. She didn’t care about the looks she’d get from everyone here, but Lottie would probably follow her and yammer at her, which would negate the relaxing part. Ugh.
Lucky’s body went rigid as Lottie piped up again, but she didn’t turn her head over right away. It took another moment before she looked forward, ready to tell Lottie it was none of her fucking business, but then her sister kept talking. She never should’ve been worried; Lottie liked hearing herself speak too much.
Except Lucky didn’t like what the fuck she was saying. JJ? Even without the extended explanation, she knew who he was━how many fucking JJ’s lived in Mystic Falls? And now he was fucking her sister? Jesus fucking Christ, did he have the inability to keep it in his pants? First his boss, now this? Lucky would’ve laughed if it wasn’t so fucking irritating. So much for being worried that Lucky would kick him out of her bed, huh?
Scoffing bitterly, Lucky rolled her eyes and looked over at Lottie. “So, what, you moved on from Freddie, huh? Gonna see if this guy wants to marry you?” She asked sourly, like she was making fun of Lottie. But she’d want an actual ring, an actual marriage license, unlike what Lucky had with JJ. Might piss her off to know JJ was already Lottie’s honorary brother-in-law, huh?
Instead of rubbing it in her face, Lucky went silent. She didn’t actually give a fuck about it, and telling Lottie would make it seem like she did. She stayed quiet until they were called in━obviously, Lottie wanted to come in with her━and answered the doctor’s questions in short, clipped sentences, only offering exactly what she’d asked for and nothing more.
After an exam or two, the doctor said an encouraging, “Well, it looks like you might be due for a celebration soon! I just want to do a few more tests first…” Lucky felt fucking sick. Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck. What was she gonna do? She was having Cameron’s fucking kid. How was she gonna tell Cat? She’d never fucking forgive Lucky for this.
Lucky hauled herself off silently to the bathroom to pee in a cup, and held back tears while she was in there, swallowing thickly through the pain of keeping them in. She composed herself by the time she went back into the office, and the doctor━obviously realizing it wasn’t a happy announcement━excused herself awkwardly to go run the tests.
Lucky sat on the edge of the exam table, hunched over, trying to push away the guilt and not succeeding. She lifted her hands, batting tears away from her eyes like they were nothing but nuisances.
“It’s Cam’s.” She admitted in a puff of breath, not feeling much better one way or another. Lottie must’ve seen Cam visiting Catia at the hotel (and knew that he wasn’t dead anymore)━if he even still did━and had at least heard about that guy attacking Catia even if she hadn’t been there for it. Cam came racing in to be the fucking hero━even though it was somebody he knew coming after her━and left again so she could be comforted by Grey. Fucking idiot.
Finally dragging her gaze up to Lottie’s, Lucky quickly looked away again, staring at a child’s drawing stuck on the wall. “It was an accident━obviously━I’d never willingly… he’s so gross,” But did Lottie even know Cam had died━even temporarily? Catia cut herself off from them the moment she left━the moment came took her away━so unless Lottie had managed to stop talking about herself for one fucking second, she might not’ve known.
She sucked in a breath and composed herself, a blank expression falling over her features. Why the fuck did she care, anyway? It wasn’t like Catia was ever there for her. Maybe it made them even after all the shit Catia put them through. “Whatever,” She grumbled, “Fuck them.” Maybe she’d tell JJ it was his━it wasn’t fucking unlikely, anyway, and then she wouldn’t have to worry about him ever leaving. God, she fucking sounded like Lottie now. “And you better not fucking say anything.”

Heading to the clinic together wasn’t exactly the perfect sister bonding activity but Lottie believed it was. She’d almost forgotten why they were heading there until they walked through the doors. This wasn’t some big exciting day out for them. They were there to see if they were going to be mom’s. Had Lottie moved on from Freddie? She couldn’t tell. Yes she still cried until she was almost sick sometimes and yes she still loved him a lot but she had no idea if she was over him. This was all a new experience for her and she had no idea how to actually process heartbreak. She was purely running off advice she’d seen on the internet. One piece of advice was to get under another man, which is exactly what she did. Another was to cut her hair off and dye it, but she couldn’t bring herself to hack her locks off. “No… I’m still married anyway so I can’t marry another man because that’s like… um…” Big something? Bigot? “You can go to jail for that.” She gave up trying to remember the word. But Lucky’s comment had her mind spinning a little. Would JJ want to marry her? It didn’t feel like he did because he never texted her back but then it would be cool to marry an English man because she could move to England. Maybe she’d get to meet Prince Harry. Lottie wasn’t going to mention to Lucky that JJ had gone radio silent since their hook up though because she couldn't hack the sly comments from Lucky about it. As soon as the doctor called Lucky through to the room Lottie jumped to her feet as well, as though she was invited along too. She sat in the corner of the room as the doctor asked Lucky a few questions, with her sister answering them with one word answers. Her attention bounced around the room until her eyes settled on the scales. Could the doctors tell she was pregnant just by weighing her maybe? The little ball of cells inside of her must have weighed something. She watched intently as the doctor did all her weird looking tests on Lucky. Then she announced the news. Lottie was about to launch herself out of the chair in joy and hug her sister but for once she actually read the room. Lucky wasn’t happy, which became more apparent when the doctor left the room and Lucky started to shed a few tears. Lottie remained rigid in her chair, unsure as to whether she should stand up and approach her sister to give her a hug. It was like wondering whether you should touch an upset feral cat. Lucky could tear Lottie’s arms off for even attempting to touch her. But she sprung off the chair at Lucky’s next comment. “Cam’s?!” She practically shrieked loud enough to notify everyone within a twelve mile radius. “As in dead Cam who’s not dead?” Catia had spent some time filling Lottie in what had happened recently, even though most of it went over Lottie’s head. “What the fuck Lucky?” Jesus. Lottie couldn’t let her emotions run away with her otherwise some weird weather would hit Mystic Falls, but Freddie used the word accident when he was telling her about his affair. All of it was an accident and he never meant to hurt her. “So what you accidentally fucked him?” She scoffed, shaking her head. People accidentally trip over power cables, not accidentally fuck their sister’s ex. “Why did you do it?” It was totally gross, yes. It was a big secret for Lottie to keep to herself. “You have to tell Catia.” Otherwise Lottie would have to avoid Catia for the rest of her life because there was no way she was going to be able to keep tight lipped about this. ━ i'm something bad ━ NEVERMIND THE CONFUSING WAY SHE FELT ABOUT JJ and Lottie hooking up━and Lottie subsequently getting way too fucking attached━this took precedence. She was having Cam’s fucking kid. Cam, the most nasty man in the world, who was also fucking her sister. Fuck.
She didn’t know what made her admit it. Maybe she just wanted someone to know. Someone who knew what’d happened between all of them, who knew Cameron and how he ripped their sister from them. She could tell JJ, obviously, and he wouldn’t judge her for it━seriously, how could he?━but he would never have lived through the situation.
Maybe she wanted the judgement that came with Lottie knowing. A way of getting punished for it without the real consequences that could inevitably come.
Lottie freaked the fuck out, though, and Lucky glanced up at her quickly, her brows furrowed like she could tell Lottie to shut the fuck up with just her expression. She puffed out a breath and didn’t respond, immediately feeling the regret bubbling up as her eyes skittered sideways. She should’ve never fucking said anything. But it’d come out eventually, right?
When she had this stupid fucking kid and Cam wanted to be in its life. When she had to co-parent with… no, fuck that. She was gonna be fucking sick.
“It was an accident.” She snapped, her eyes finally jumping up to Lottie. “Do you think I wanted to? He’s fucking nasty.” Lucky puffed out a breath, “I’m linked to some other guy in Mystic Falls.” She admitted in a grumble, hoping she didn’t have to spell out for Lottie that it was the psychic kind of “linked.” “He was banging someone else the night I went to flip out at him for nearly getting Cat killed━this was before you got to town. And I tried to control it, but he didn’t fucking turn me away, so whose fault is it really?” She hissed, her eyes snapping to Lottie again from where they’d fallen to the floor.
“No shit. You don’t think this is gonna do it for me?” She motioned to her still-flat midsection, then narrowed her gaze at her sister. “God, Lottie, did you get even more stupid after Freddie left you?” Lucky hissed as if insulting her sister would make this any easier.
As if right on cue, the door opened again, and the doctor strode in, looking between the girls like she could feel the tension she’d just walked in on. “So…” She began awkwardly, “It seems I was incorrect, and I apologize for that. The results of our tests confirm that you aren’t pregnant.”
Lucky deflated suddenly, her knees hitting her thighs, face falling into her hands. “… I don’t know if that’s good or bad news for you, but…” She trailed off, and Lucky hissed under her breath,
“Where did you get your fucking medical license?”
Her head snapped up, and she shoved off the table with an expression full of anger. Because of this idiot fucking doctor, she’d told Lottie for nothing. Now she was gonna go blab to everybody about it.
Lucky grabbed her bag and stormed out, but not before meeting Lottie’s eye and warning her between clenched teeth, “Do not fucking say a word.”

Lottie actually couldn’t believe the bullshit that was coming out of her sister’s mouth. Lucky could be a total bitch most of the time, but this was a step too far, even for her. Yet, she was standing there trying to defend herself, blaming Cam for everything. She wanted to ask about the other guy Lucky was linked to, but also didn’t want to divert away from the issue. “It’s your fault Lucky! You and Cam.” She was trying to keep her voice low, not wanting to alert the woman outside the two women were arguing with one another. Lottie felt the heat rise to her cheeks as Lucky snapped at her again, insulting her and bringing Freddie’s name into the argument. “I left him.” She spoke through gritted teeth, as frustration slipped out of her. If she didn’t calm down there would be a thunderstorm rolling through town within the matter of minutes. It was like she was living a repeat of the conversation she had with Freddie. It was an accident, he never meant to do it, he was sorry. Well, the S word hadn’t been thrown into the mix yet and probably never would with Lucky. The door flew open and the doctor walked into the room. The girls fell silent as the doctor’s gaze bounced awkwardly between them. There was a quiet sigh of relief when she announced Lucky wasn’t pregnant. His sister started to deflect her anger towards the woman, “I’m sorry about my sister… she’s just… she’s a bitch.” Her gaze shot back to Lucky who was already getting ready to leave the room but not before barking an order at Lottie to keep the secret to herself, which wasn’t going to happen. As soon as she’d leave the doctor’s she’d be calling Viv to tell her everything. LUCKY CHRISTMAS - the end!
