He made no promises to Dolly because realistically he was never going to keep those promises. He told her he’d try and stop feeding off Hannya. There was a huge emphasis on the word try. She didn’t understand how hard it was to resist blood when it was being offered to him fresh there and then. He was able to take almost every last drop of her and she’d heal quickly, ready to go again. It was a vampire’s dream. He didn’t have the willpower to say no either. As much as he pretended he was in complete control of the situation, he wasn’t. Far from it. However, he was trying to cut down on the number of times he’d sink his teeth into her flesh. He needed to wean himself off Hannya and back on the blood bags and he was in this alone. Lawrence couldn’t turn to Teddy for help without judgement and the same went for his sister. The sex was a completely different story. That act wasn’t hurting Dolly, but meeting her it did make him feel a little uncomfortable after he and Hannya hooked up. At the moment it was easy to forget someone was buried deep inside that body, crying out for help. There wasn’t a lot he could do about that either. If Hannya found out she’d kill him and discard Dolly's body right after. Yet here he was in Hannya’s apartment, leaving her bedroom and telling himself it was the last time. This time he even told her their little thing had to stop. Of course she cackled loudly as she grabbed her clothes off the floor before sliding them onto Dolly’s body. He should have never entertained her advances in the first place. He should have listened to Teddy, but as always he thought the ball was in his court. He called the shots between the pair and he was able to walk away any time he liked. Dolly was a sharp realisation that he wasn’t. Even after meeting the poor girl he was still falling into bed with Hannya. What started as something fun had snowballed into something that was making him question his morals. Any thought of questionable morals slipped away once his eyes fell on Remzi, standing in Hannya’s kitchen. Son of a bitch. He kept his eyes locked on the vampire as he closed Hannya’s bedroom door behind him. In a blur he was in front of Remzi with one hand around his throat as he slammed Remzi into the side of the fridge. “You…” Lawrence let go of his neck after a second, but swiftly punched Remzi in the face, “That’s for breaking my neck and leaving me to burn in the sun.” He hissed before stepping away from Remzi, shaking his right hand slightly as he did so. “The woman in the gas station nearly had a heart attack when I came back to life. She’d called the cops and an ambulance.” He added, as his voice returned to its normal level. REMZI DURMAZ - the gif kills me

━ like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill ━ HANNYA WAS HOME, BUT SHE WAS BUSY, APPARENTLY, so Remzi was stuck munching on shit from her fridge. At first, he’d tried to block out the sounds with his chewing, but then he realized that it wasn’t so bad. Kinda hot, really, if he stayed focused on her━she was the louder one, so it wasn’t that difficult. Remzi held the container of leftovers from last night’s dinner in one hand while the other grabbed the cold, wrapped, Mexican-ish thing and dipped it in some sour cream. Shoving it in his mouth like an animal, Remzi chomped down on the crackly edges and allowed the crumbs to fall into the Tupperware held under his chin.
Leah wasn’t home, so maybe he wasn’t allowed to take a turn with Hannya, but the idea spurred him on even more. He’d just drag her into the shower, kill two birds with one stone. Yeah. Sounded like a plan.
Remzi glanced up as the door to her room opened, about to greet the dude with an upwards nod and a shit-eating grin… ‘til he realized who it was. Fucking Lawrence? Really? His brows went up, but Remzi carried out his planned salutation anyway, though the smirk was filled with a lot more amusement. Was this weird? Nah, that shit happened forever ago; there was no way Lawrence still cared…
“Fuck you!” Remzi nearly spit out what was in his mouth, turning hard from the punch. He managed to swallow it, but the container went flying, along with the second taquito or whatever the fuck they were called. It didn’t matter, they were fucking dope and now all he had left was the one in his other hand. Straightening up, Remzi glared at Lawrence, tossing the rest of the taquito in his mouth before shoving the other vampire. Suddenly settling, he wiped his hand on his shirt, then brushed the back of his fingers over his beard to clear it of any crumbs.
“You’re still pissed about that? Damn, man, you hold a grudge like a chick.” Remzi rolled his eyes, though he started grinning while imagining Lawrence getting caught in such a big problem. “You didn’t have to knock over my fuckin’... things though,” He motioned to the taquitos, then bent to scoop up the container, tossing the last rolled one from the floor back into the plastic. “We’ll call it even, huh? That for… whatever these are.” He stared down at them, debating the five-second rule. “You think anybody’d notice if I just… popped it back in the fridge?” Remzi wondered aloud, then glanced to Lawrence, moving closer to nudge his arm like nothing had happened.
“So… how long you been hitting that, man?” He asked with a lowered voice, indicating with his chin towards Hannya’s bedroom door. “Does she let you bite her or what?”

Even though Remzi left him for dead, he was still somewhat concerned about his friend when his eyes flickered open and his face was pressed against the cold concrete. It didn’t take him long to realise where he was as he rolled onto his back with a groan, staring up at the employee from the gas station who was on the phone with 911. She’d witnessed everything from the kiosk, ducking down behind the till when she saw one man had just killed another, fearing she would be next. She screamed as Lawrence’s eyes fluttered open and he moved. Thankfully she wasn’t pumped full of vervain and he was able to compel her before disappearing into the darkness. Back to Mystic Falls, leaving Remzi to continue on his killing spree. It would only be a matter of time before the other vampire cracked and switched it all back on again. A smirk twitched on his face as he watched the food hit the floor. It had zero appeal to Lawrence before but even more so now half of it was on the floor. “You left me to die… of course, I’m gonna be pissed about that.” Okay, maybe being left to die was a slight exaggeration given the sun wasn’t ready to rise imminently, but still, he was pissed at Remzi. That disappeared once he punched Remzi though. Knocking someone's food on the food was barely the same as snapping someone's neck, but whatever, it was all water under the bridge now. “They look a little… they look like they’ve been on the floor.” It was bizarre that Hannya even had food in her fridge, given she didn’t need it. Lawrence glanced over towards Hannya’s bedroom before letting out a quiet sigh, “Too long.” He didn’t even want to think about how long it had been since their first night in the bar. He wandered over to Hannya’s fridge, yanking the door open to peer inside. Again, why the fuck did she have food? He reached inside, grabbing a bottle of orange juice. “Yeah.” He muttered as he closed the fridge and opened the bottle. “Hang on, why the fuck are you here?” He paused, looking over at Hannya’s bedroom again, “Are you like her second appointment of the day or something?” Obviously he wasn’t the only one keeping Hannya busy, but Lawrence always tried to push that thought out of his mind, especially when she openly flirted with Hector at work. One minute she’d be slipping out of his office and the next minute she’d have her arms draped around Lawrence's neck. Ignorance was bliss in moments like that. REMZI DURMAZ

━ like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill ━ LEFT TO DIE. WHAT A FUCKIN’ BABY. REMZI WOULD’VE said it aloud, but (for once in his life) he had some sense of self-preservation. He was dumb enough to think he could take Lawrence on, but some logical part of his brain (did he have one of those?) told him it was better not to piss off an older vampire.
Thankfully, though, Lawrence was gonna take the trade━a little neck snapping for Remzi’s delicious taquitos. He stared down at the last rolled thing, frowning and assessing it. Did it look like it’d been on the floor? Really? It looked fine to Remzi. He shrugged, then grabbed the last one (because he never got hungry, nor was he affected by germs), popped it in his mouth and dumped the container in the sink. Somebody could wash that later.
“Too long?” Remzi raised his brows, flashing Lawrence a look of disbelief. “What’re you, gay? The fuck do you mean ‘too long?’” He scoffed, then let the edges of his lips slide upwards into a grin. He was just kidding, but Remzi found that sometimes people didn’t appreciate his types of jokes. He could get another fist to the face for it, but maybe smiling would ease Lawrence’s anger a little bit. Remzi knew they were vampires and everything, but how was he still all wound up even after hanging out with Hannya?
Second appointment? Remzi was laughing again, though this time he was amused at Lawrence’s reaction. “Nah, man. Well, not officially… hoping she’ll have some time, though.” He snickered, moving to grab a liquor bottle from the freezer. Hannya always kept this place well-stocked, and he was thankful she liked being super fucking boujee.
“I live here, man,” Remzi finally explained, popping open the bottle and downing far too much in one gulp. He rounded the counter, settling on a stool on the other side. “For now, anyway. Me and Leah are crashing with Hannya and her kid for a bit,” He motioned to Elio’s closed door, totally unsure whether or not the kid was home. Did he… like listening to his mom getting it on? It sounded really fucking weird, but Remzi assumed demon relationships didn’t work the same way normal ones did.
He took another sip of the cold liquid, then slowly turned the bottle to peer at the label. It was some expensive fucking vodka and Remzi was drinking it like it was a beer. “She let you kill her?” He asked somewhat darkly, blue eyes jumping to Lawrence for only a moment before skittering away again. He thought about all the lives he’d taken when his humanity was off, and how the guilt never felt as bad as perhaps it should’ve. Now, he liked watching Hannya’s eyes fade. She went limp in his arms; that slow beat of her heart finally halted, and she was gone for a few seconds.
Every time she came back, her glazed-over hazel eyes suddenly flickered to life, and he watched them register her surroundings, then him. She always looked terrified for half a second before she smirked and whispered for Remzi to do it again. A little tingle shot up his spine at the various memories, and he glanced towards her bedroom door. “Fucking wild, huh? Just… doing it over and over again, ‘cept without the bad shit that comes with actual murder.” His chuckle was low and somewhat strained, then washed down with another mouthful. If Lawrence didn’t leave soon, Remzi would just get up and go to her━before he started thinking about his dead brother.

After he punched Remzi and the pair decided they were friends again he realised Remzi wasn’t completely dead by the eyes. His switch had been flipped back on and Lawrence wanted to know why. What pushed him to feel something again? Or had he simply caved into the emotions as Lawrence had? The ones that had been trickling away in the background for months on end until one day he gave up the fight, allowing them to overcome him. Crushing him down into a shell of a man. Nonetheless, it was something the pair could discuss somewhere private. Away from Hannya and whoever else was lingering inside the apartment that seemed to have a never closing door. He’d told Teddy that everything was over between him and Hannya, to save himself a headache, but how long ago was that? A year? Fuck, maybe even longer. After every single encounter, he would tell himself that was the last time, until he saw her again. It was a cycle he needed to break out of, but not right now. It was a problem for future Lawrence. “I don’t know, buddy. Like a year or so.” He glanced down at the orange juice for a moment, realising that the only way out of the situation was if one of them left town and he knew Hannya had no intention of going anyway. He looked back up at Remzi, “Just saying maybe it’s time I cut her loose… plenty more fish in the sea.” It was an absurd comment. No one cut Hannya loose. She was the one that did the cutting. Lawrence exhaled slowly before taking a swig of the orange juice. He didn’t want to even begin to entertain the idea that he and Remzi were sharing the same woman. He wanted to bask in ignorance, as always. Bury his hand so far in the sand that it was impossible to pull him out. He glanced down at the orange juice carton once more, checking the expiry date written on the same. Fuck. Three weeks out. Lawrence turned around, spitting the contents into the sink as Remzi continued talking. “Her what?” He spun around to face Remzi, tossing the carton in the sink as he did so, “Did you just say kid? As in Hannya’s kid?” His eyes drifted off towards the other closed door in the apartment. He let out a nervous laugh, shaking his head, “Fuck you. She ain’t got a kid.” Were demons even capable of having children? Fuck. He reached forward, taking the bottle from Remzi’s hand before taking a quick sip to wash away the taste of chunky orange juice. He pushed the bottle back into Remzi’s hand, “Kind of… it’s complicated.” He didn’t want to stand there explaining to Remzi how he would drain Hannya’s body so that she would be tickling death for her to heal herself and they would start the same process again. “It’s better than draining humans on the street I guess.” Hannya was the only thing that was standing in the way of Lawrence taking that path. ━ like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill ━ REMZI LAUGHED WHEN LAWRENCE CLAIMED he’d “cut her loose.” Clearly, he was still in denial, but Remzi didn’t push it more than a wide smirk and that condescending chuckle. Lawrence could think what he wanted; Hannya would decide what actually went down. Remzi had accepted that by now.
His brows went up at the haphazard toss of the carton in the sink, about to tell him to move it before Hannya gave one of them an earful, but Lawrence was already stuck on something else. The kid. Didn’t he know?
“Yeah, man, she does…” Remzi spoke slowly, like Lawrence couldn’t understand him, and held the other vampire’s eye line. “You never met him? His name’s like, uh… something weird. Starts with an E. Anyway, that’s his room.” He motioned again to the closed door, “Why, you worried there was some kinda vamp-demon mixup and she spawned your kid?” Carried away with the thought, Remzi laughed to himself as he walked towards Hannya’s door, turning to face Lawrence while he hovered.
“Yeah, whatever.” He snorted, “Nothing beats when they’re all scared and shit, but whatever you wanna tell yourself, man.” Still amused, Remzi grabbed the doorknob and twisted. “Gonna go get me some of that, then. Her kid’s probably home if you wanna meet him.” He added the last part just to be a jackass before disappearing into Hannya’s bedroom.
