Scott couldn’t even begin to imagine what it must have been like for Jasper when he was taken by the Dread Doctors. He was just a kid at the time and he had been ripped away from his twin sister and the rest of the family. Scott knew that Hayden didn’t blame Jasper for staying away and he hoped that in time Jasper would stop feeling guilty about it as well. He knew what it was like to want to protect the people you loved so badly, Scott had tried going it alone when he and his friends were up against the Alpha pack because he had thought that it would keep them safe but that had ended in disaster. For Jasper it was different, given everything that the Dread Doctors had done it would have only put Hayden in danger if he had reached out before. Now she had already been targeted by the Dread Doctors and she had survived so with any luck that would mean that she was safe from them now but she had the pack around her to make sure that nothing happened to her again.

Jasper’s reaction when Scott said Hayden had talked about him before he’d turned up was enough to bring a smile to the Alpha’s face. “Yeah, she did. Even when you were gone you were still important to her,” he nodded. Scott knew he would never understand the pain she had felt at losing her twin and her parents all in one go but whenever she had talked about Jasper it had seemed like she was keeping his memory alive. “I think it was her way of honouring you, she always said she felt like you were still with her somehow.” Scott didn’t know what it was like to have a bond like that, he was an only child but his pack was his family and they were all his siblings as far as he was concerned. His mom was the only other family he’d had for a long time since his dad hadn’t been in the picture much for years but he’d built his own family and he was proud of that. “That’s okay, I’m sure it will come to you. When it does don’t be afraid to ask, I’ll try and answer anything you want to know,” Scott assured him.
